Bowling – Top Ten Websites for Bowlers

Coaching Tips

We all know the web is replete with an array of informative websites, but separating the bad websites from the ones that are worth the time to check out can be downright time consuming. Here are my picks for the top 10 bowling websites that are worth your time to visit.

1 – PBA.com: the official site of the Professional Bowlers Association. The PBA website tracks scoring in real time for national tournaments, including those of the PBA Tour, the PBA Senior Tour, and the PBA Women’s Series. There is also the opportunity to watch streaming video of tournament qualifying rounds (for a nominal cost). Further, current bowling news, regional tour tournaments, and player bios are easily accessible from the sites front page. With a free registration, there is a forum section that provides the reader the opportunity to exchange messages with other members, including some touring PBA members. There’s also a pro shop from which the bowler can purchase licensed PBA attire and equipment. A great all-around website.

2 – Bowl.com: The Official Site of the USBC (United States Bowling Congress) – if it relates to bowling in the United States, chances are it’s going to be on Bowl.com. The site covers all facets of bowling from youth to professional levels. Bowling news can be found at Bowl.com that differs from the PBA website in that the news tends to circulate around non-professional bowling. There’s so much available at Bowl.com that it is impossible to mention it all with just a short paragraph here. Bowl.com is a comprehensive bowling website.

3 – Bowlingmuseum.com: The website of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame – In addition to being the promotional site for the Bowling Hall of Fame, Bowlingmuseum.com has several other interesting features that include a history of bowling, Hall of Fame inductee lists, links to local Halls of Fame, and a bowling news section.

4 – Ballreviews.com: Before You Buy – Ballreviews is probably best known for its end-user evaluations of bowling equipment with particular emphasis on reviews of bowling balls. Hundreds of balls, separated by manufacturer or brand name, are reviewed and evaluated based on user experience with each piece of equipment. Further, the website’s easily navigable forums make asking for advice and opinions on a wide variety of bowling topics as simple as a few clicks. There’s also a great Buy/Sell/Trade section through which members can acquire new and used bowling equipment, often for sharply discounted prices.

5 – Bowl4fun.com: Ron Clifton’s official website – Ron Clifton is a nationally respected and demanded bowling coach. This website puts much of Ron’s knowledge of bowling into readable form. In addition to his coaching tips, the site includes Ron’s seminar schedule, an archive of articles he’s written for The Bowling News and Bowling This Month, Ron’s radio appearance archives, a user forum, and Q&A; sections. When one of the most knowledgeable bowling experts puts so much of his information into print form, it is well worth the time to read.

6 – Bowlingfans.com: The Site for the Fans by the Fans – With features that include chat, a bowling glossary, and tips by some top coaches, the visitor to this site will definitely leave having learned something new about the sport of bowling. Whether you are a novice looking to get your game off the ground or a seasoned bowling veteran looking to improve some aspect of your game, you will likely find the information you need at Bowlingfans.com.

7 – Bowlingdigital.com: The World of Bowling – while many sites grant preference to bowling in the United States, BowlingDigital.com covers bowling throughout the entire world. This site is a comprehensive source for bowling news from Asia, Europe, Australia, and the United States. Factor in their coverage of PBA bowling, USBC news, and user forums and you’ve got a pretty expansive bowling website. If something is happening in the world of bowling, you’ll likely find the story at Bowlingdigital.com.

8 – Diandrabowling.com: The Official Website of Diandra Asbaty – a great interactive website with news and information about one of the most popular and talented women in the world of bowling. Read Diandra’s news, bio and accomplishments and take a few minutes to enjoy her photos and videos.

9 – ParkerBohn.com – the website of Hall of Fame member Parker Bohn III. Fans can access Parker’s current schedule of events, seminars, and performance in PBA events. Further, Parker has his Bohn Zone fan club with news highlights about members. Those interested in scheduling an appearance by Parker Bohn III can do so through his website.

10 – DannyWisemanbowling.com – Danny Wiseman is one of the more noticeable members of the PBA, and he is certainly the most colorful. Fans can join Wiseman’s fan club, purchase Danny Wiseman licensed attire, improve their game with Danny’s bowling tips, and read his bio. He’s also got a list of links that extend beyond the bowling arena into his areas of interest – metal music and fast cars.

I trust these websites will be as informative and enjoyable for you as they are for me. These are websites that I enjoy on a nearly daily basis. My bowling career is enriched by them; I hope yours will be as well.
