Bisquick Taco Bake – Easy and Delicious

Bisquick

This recipe is the bomb. It is usually served with sour cream, or ranch dressing but I usually make a salad to go along with it. It takes just 15 minutes to prep it and 35 to bake. A taco bake is the perfect dish for kids after school or on days you are busy and don’t have the time to prepare an an entire meal. Let’s get started with what you will need.

Bisquick- 3 cups

Milk- 1 1/2 cups

Eggs- 3

Hamburger- 1 or 2 lbs (some people are meat hounds, I used just 1 lb)

Corn- 1 1/2 cans

Cheddar Cheese- 2 1/2 cups

Onion- 1/2

Taco Seasoning- 1pack

Tomato sauce- 1 8oz can

COOKING DIRECTIONS: Pre heat oven to *350

Start by gathering your ingredients and browning the hamburger. Be sure to brown it thoroughly and break it up good. Once the hamburger is brown, drain it and add the onion, corn, tomato sauce, a spoonfull of water and the taco seasoning. Other people’s recipe of this dish has you do this step in the baking dish but I like this method better. I think it allows the onion and corn to absorb the seasonings. Heat a little bit, about 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Empty the mix into an ungreased 9×13 glass baking dish and spread it out to cover the bottom. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top of mixture.

In a large mixing bowl combine your Bisquick, eggs and milk. Beat thoroughly until well mixed with a whisk or mixer. Pour batter over meat and corn mix. Put in the over and bake for 35 minutes or so, depending on your oven and altitude. When a toothpick comes out of the patter portion clean, the taco bake is ready. Simply stick a toothpick in the center and pull out.
