There is a new roller coaster at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it is called Expedition Everest. Expedition Everest rivals Space Mountain for the best roller coaster in Walt Disney World. You will drop backwards and forward and be hurled into darkness, while trekking up and down the world’s most frightening mountain. If that is not enough, there is the Yeti to contend with. And he does show up during your journey – more than once! Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is a phenomenal roller coaster. On this ride, Disney really outdid itself. Fastpass Expedition Everest if the standby line is long – but either way, it’s definitely worth the wait. Expedition Everest is located in Asia.
Also located in Asia is the Kali River Rapids. If you are contending with Central Florida’s magnificent sun, you may want to cool off on this river rafting journey. What starts as a leisurely trip down the Chakranadi River turns into a white water adventure. Will you get wet? No, you will get soaked. And you are bound to enjoy every minute of it. Your raft will spin as you float down the rapids past some treacherous terrain. If you don’t want to get wet, wear a poncho.
A truly unique attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the Kilimanjaro Safaris, which can be found in Africa. You will board an open-air safari vehicle for a wonderful expedition through an African savannah. You will see zebras, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions, gazelles, hippos, and much, much more. Of course, since this is Disney, there is also a story. I won’t ruin it for you, but…beware of poachers!
Whatever you do, don’t miss Dinosaur, which can be found in DinoLand U.S.A. You will board a unique time travel vehicle that will take you back 65 million years to capture a harmless dinosaur. But beware, because not all the dinosaurs on this ride are harmless. Oh yeah, you will also have to contend with an asteroid shower. This ride can be a bit frightening – most of it takes place in the pitch dark, and fierce dinosaurs pop out at you at every turn. But hey, if you survived the Yeti, you will survive this.
It’s Tough to Be a Bug! is a fun 3D show that takes place in the Tree of Life on Discovery Island. You will see, smell and feel your favorite – and not so favorite – insects, including a stink bug called Claire de Room, and of course, Flik and Hopper from Disney’s A Bug’s Life.
