Best Local Dog Park for Fresno, CA

Fresno, Gazebos

Perhaps we know the city of Fresno for its agriculture. Its sunny summers, or maybe for Fresno State University. It should also be known for its parks. Parks where the population of over half a million can go and relax. There are some very nice parks in the Fresno area. There are also a handful of dog parks. The top two parks that come to the top of my head would be, Roeding Park Dog Park and Woodward Park Dog Park.

Roeding Park offers one acre of heaven for your dog. There are areas for big and areas for small dogs where they can go in and run wild. Roeding Park is located closer to downtown Fresno, on Belmont next to highway 99. You can truly go to relax to this park. There are gazebos that can be reserved if you want to celebrate a loved ones birthday. You can take your dog for a jog around this park that overall is around 159 acres. You may also want to take your kids to the amusement park that’s located inside the park. And finally you can check out the Fresno Chaffee zoo. Park attracts about 600,000 people per year. This would be the perfect park where your dog can release some energy. The Park is open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily. All visitors will pay a $5 parking fee.

Woodward Dog park also offers an acre for your dog to run wild and crazy. It also offers areas for small and big dogs. Let’s say you don’t want to just stay at the dog park area and want to explore. Woodward park has trails that you can enjoy with your dog. You can walk down to the San Joaquin River that runs just north of the park. Woodward Park has very nice scenery. It’s a park where you can either go and relax or go work out. There are gazebos that you can reserve for family events. You can also make wedding reservations at this park. If you are looking for a work out with your dog. You can do some trail running on the Eaton trail. You can also run along the bike lane that runs towards the outside of the park. There are many running events that go on during weekends at Woodward Park. If you are a runner, This is where most of the local races take place. Overall, this is my favorite park in Fresno. If you have not yet visited this park, make sure to check it out soon. The park is located on Friant rd in northeast Fresno. It’s open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily. The parking fee for all visitors is $5.
