If you have been to Salt Lake City, Utah for St. Patrick’s Day or you just like going to Irish Pubs for a bit of Irish blarney and Irish luck, you might wonder why the local Irish Pub favorite Port O’Call is not on the list of best Irish Pubs. Sadly in 2008, the Federal Government, under eminent domain, took the Port O’Call location after 20 years of being in business. Port O’Call was one of Salt Lake City’s favorite Irish Pubs and is now closed.

Green Street Social Club is one of the favorite Irish Pubs in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a private club located in Trolley Square and you must show a valid driver’s license to prove you are over 21 years of age to buy a membership. You can get a 3-week temporary membership for $4 or an annual membership for $12 per year.

The Green Street Social Club has more than 50 televisions to watch your favorite sports games. They also have domestic and microbrew beer specials along with DJ dance specials for a $3 cover to members. MacCool’s Public House at the District in South Jordan, 13 miles south of Salt Lake City, is an Irish family restaurant and pub that offers live music on Thursday nights, and a great comfy ambiance with two fireplaces, darts, and shuffleboard. MacCool’s has live Irish music and green beer on St. Patrick’s Day.

The menu includes a great mix of traditional Irish food and conventional food like Bangers & Mash, Homemade Gravlox, Maple Blarney Caesar Salad, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Corned Beef Au Gratin Pie, Guinness Stew, Calamari, Buffalo Sheppard’s Pie, Lamb Ribs, Irish Stew, Lobster Stew, Smoked Salmon Chowder, Fish and Chips, Chocolate bread, and Apple Cobbler.

The dinner menu at Maggie McGee’s is limited with mostly chicken, steak, and seafood plates ranging from $9.00 to $15.00. They have appetizers, soups and salads also. While they promote themselves as an Irish Pub, they do not have traditional Irish food on their daily menu.
