Millie Bush Bark Park

This 13 acre dog park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Nominated one of the best dog parks in the Nation in 2005 by “Dog Fancy” readers. It is easy to see why its considered one of the best dog parks in Houston, it is full of amenities. It is double gated and fenced, pick up bags are available, parking lot, restrooms are not on site but are nearby. There are areas for large and small dogs and they have the cutest small and large fire hydrants in them. You will find picnic benches outside the park and a walking path inside. To beat the hot Texas heat there are doggie swimming ponds, dog showers, water fountains, trees and even shady areas.
Congressman Bill Archer Bark Park

Located just north of 1-10 across from Bear Creek Park you will find this 926 acre facility. Open 7 a.m. to dusk seven days a week, you also have access to over 230 parking spaces. The park has 14 acres designated for large dogs and 3 acres just for small dogs. Each of the two dog sections also have dog agility fun equipment for your pets. This dog park is also double gated and fenced with pick up bags. There are lots of trees and long walking trails to enjoy. For water fun there are swimming ponds, fountains and dog showers.
Gene Green Beltway 8 Dog Park
6500 East Sam Houston Parkway North
Houston, Texas 77049 This eastside dog park has lots of fun for humans and dogs. It offers 3.5 acres for large dogs and .7 acres for small dogs. As with most other Houston dog parks it is double fenced and gated with pick up bags for you to use. Your dog can swim in the pond or play in the water fountain. There are benches and large trees, even a area with brush where your dog can sniff around for some birds to chase. Another really wonderful thing about this dog park is all the fun things for children. They have a human splash park, skate park your teenagers will love and a fun playground for younger children.

I highly recommend attending you will be able to talk with leaders and advocates from dog friendly organizations. It is a good idea to let you dog explore the dog park at opening or closing the first time to get a feel for it without it being crowded.
