Best Consignment Shops in Kansas City

Consignment Shops, Infant Toys, men's clothing, Seven for All Mankind

Looking for a good buy on clothing in the Kansas City Metro Area? Maybe baby items, or shoes? Or maybe your looking to make a few extra bucks by unloading your closet, or kids closet. Consignment shops save the average customer 50% on name brand products. In addition to saving a customer money, consignment shops can help the overstuffed closet slim down and make you some extra money. Take your extra clothes, baby strollers, infant toys, etc. to a local consignment shop. The retailer will assign your items a value, and the seller makes a percentage from the sale. Check out these local consignment shops below.

Act II Inc. offers high end women’s and mens clothing. The clothing ranges from cocktail to casual. This cute little shop in the heart of downtown is classic ambiance with a sophisticated air that lets you know you are going to find some great items. Designers brands include Prada, Armani, St. John, Etro, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Escada, Chanel, Dolce & Gabanna, Max Mara, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Michael Kors and Peggy Jennings to name a few. On top of that I got a pair of Seven for All Mankind jeans for around $50, original retail price $155. That’s over 60% off! Act II is definitely an Act I in my book.

Ditto located in the Northland, right off of Barry Road and I-29 Hwy, offers the hippest brand name clothing at a fraction of the retail price. This store is definitely for the teen in your household. Ditto is well organized, and has an excellent selection in casual wear, and prom/formal wear to complete any teenage girls closet. In addition to great clothing, I found a huge selection of name brand shoes and purses. I walked out of there with two pairs of shoes and handbag for under $45. Great brands, not top of the line, but name brands for sure. I also consigned 3 prom dresses that were just sitting in my closet collecting dust, and after they were sold made $55 dollars total.

It’s the middle of winter, and no garage sales are in sight, but your little trooper has shot up 2 inches and you are needing jeans that reach his ankles instead of his knees. This consignment store is for you! Children’s Orchard, located in Kansas City by Hen House off of 64th St., Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, and Independence. Children’s Orchard offers children’s clothing, infant items, and more. I shopped at the Kansas City location, near Parkville, MO and found the selection very nice. All items were in excellent condition, and prices were reasonable compared to retail. They also offered a wide selection in baby gadgets, strollers, walker, slings, excersaucers, and toys. I found myself in there for at least and hour finding great deals at great prices. I left with 6 full outfits for my 2 year old and a “new” bouncer for under $80. I have not taken advantage of selling there yet, but as soon as we are past the toddler stage, I will be selling all their items at Children’s Orchard.

Consignment shops offer great deals at great prices, and a way to unload your extras from home and make a few bucks.
