Belly Button Rings, Body Modification

Industrial piercing is located on the ear and it consists of two individual piercings in which one piece of jewelry is put in the two piercings. When you get an Industrial piercing the procedure should be performed by a licensed professional. To start with your ear will be cleaned with a disinfectant like Iodine before the procedure is performed to insure that the area is sterile. Then the piercer will mark the location in which the piercing will be placed.

The piercer usually lets the client see the location before it is pierced so that you, the client know where the jewelry and piercing will be placed on the body. You should be sitting while having this procedure performed. All Industrial piercings are different because everyone’s anatomy is different. A receiving tube is held in place to catch the needle during the piercing procedure so don’t be alarmed when you see this tube. This keep you from giving stuck by the needle in some other place than the intended location and it keeps the piercer stay from getting stuck by the needle.

The process of getting an industrial piercing is a needle that is passed through the cartilage of the ear in two different locations that are in perfect alignment so that one piece of jewelry can be fitted into the two piercings. The jewelry that is worn in an industrial is a straight barbell made of 316L implant grade surgical steel that is usually 7/8 of an inch, 1 inch or 1″ 1/4 of an inch in length. The length depends on the anatomy of a person’s ear and everyone’s anatomy is different.

Sometimes there is some bleeding when this procedure is performed so do not be alarmed if you bleed some afterwards because it is quite normal. The bleeding is different for everyone but it usually stops within just a few minutes. This may sound like a horrible procedure but it is not as bad as it seems.
