Baylor University’s Most Haunted Places

Baylor, Baylor University, Haunted Places

When one thinks of Baylor University they imagine a bastion of Texas conservatism teeming with a mass of college students. What people do not realize is that Baylor University might just be the most haunted university in the world. So for your enjoyment here is the top five most haunted places at Baylor University

5. The Bear Trail: Surrounding the Baylor campus is a two mile long track that most Baylor students will run at least once in their time at Baylor. One might say, “How can a track be haunted?” Well ever since it’s inception people have been attacked by ghosts, stalked by apparitions and a few have even disappeared off the face of the planet while running the Bear Trail. Could this be explained by the relatively high crime rate in the Waco area? As a believer in the supernatural I find it hard to believe that the Baylor Police Department could let such as a thing happen to our fine little university

4. Carroll Library: If you ever happen upon Baylor University ask the students if they have been inside of Carroll Library. I would bet dollars to dough nuts that nary a student has ever stepped foot inside this building. Why? The building has spirits than even the most seedy of liquor stores. I dared my roommate to enter once my freshman year and he came out ghost white and could only mutter the name “Rufus Burleson.

3. Marrs McLean Gym: While almost every student has taken a physical fitness course at Marrs McLean very few realize that the gym has had a few renovations. Renovations that upset the original donor Mrs. Marrs McLean. At night one can lights going on an off and the restless spirit of Mrs. McLean trying to find the pool and spa that once resided there.

2. Fifth Street Parking Facility: Perhaps the scariest place to park on campus is the Fifth Street garage. As someone who has had the luxury of staying over breaks I have seen cars race at me only to vanish into the night air. Once the sun goes down the screech of tires fills the air yet nobody moves their car, who give up such a good spot? To those with a death wish you might want to climb the stairs to the top where a few lonely cars wait for an owner who will never return.

1. The New Brooks Dorm: Yes we all know that the old Brooks Dorm was as haunted as any place on earth and while it may have been torn down the restless souls still reside. No matter what time of day or night those ageless apparitions roam around the new Brooks looking for lost loves that will never be found and their rooms which no long exist
