Amazing Irish Indie Rock: Five of the Best Songs by Two Door Cinema Club Yet

Indie Rock

Two Door Cinema Club is a indie rock band that formed in Northern Ireland that has begun to create some serious waves in the indie rock scene in Ireland and beyond. Comprised of Sam Halliday, Alex Trimble and Kevin Baird, Two Door Cinema Club has released some highly original, infectious, and memorable tracks. On September 3, 2012, Two Door Cinema Club released their second album titled “Beacon” in the UK, and the rest of the world on September 4, 2012, which I expect will enhance the band’s popularity even further. Here is a look at five of the best songs by Two Door Cinema Club yet, and see why the future looks bright for this talented group of Irishmen.

“What You Know”

“What You Know” is a seriously catchy song by Two Door Cinema Club that draws listeners in and refuses to let go. This was the first song I ever heard by the band, and I after one listen I was a fan. “What You Know” is energetic, inventive, and completely enjoyable.

“I Can Talk”

Another great song by Two Door Cinema Club is “I Can Talk.” This song is one of the most energetic outputs I’ve seen yet by the band, and the result is an unbelievably catchy song that plays over in your head over and over again, hours after hearing it. For added entertainment value, be sure to check out the music video for “I Can Talk.”

“Undercover Martyn”

“Undercover Martyn” is another solid track from Two Door Cinema Club that actually reminds me a lot of the recent work by Bombay Bicycle Club. In my book that is a huge compliment. This song is catchy, memorable, energetic, and nearly three minutes of non-stop, upbeat entertainment. I’m still not quite sure who the “basement people” are, but I loved the song none the less.

“Sleep Alone”

Another solid track by Two Door Cinema Club is “Sleep Alone.” Featuring a hyponotic beat, mellow vocals, and a tempo that intensifies with each frame. “Sleep Alone” is another stand out track for the band. As a side note, the music video that accompanies this song helps to add to the character and depth of this song.

“Something Good Can Work”

“Something Good Can Work” is my favorite song by Two Door Cinema Club to date. This highly catchy and memorable song has a sound and vibe that is distinctly summery and irresistibly upbeat. For the life of me, I cannot keep up with the lyrics, but this song is a lot of fun to listen to and (try to) sing along to.
