Virgin Flare
The Flare is a flip phone that is compatible with hands-free headsets (Bluetooth). It comes with a power adapter and costs around $15. Features of this cheap prepaid mobile phones for seniors include TTY/TDD, HAC, voice activated dialing and speakerphone. Perhaps the best feature of the Flare is that you can adjust the font size. The keys are raised and not too small for easy dialing.

In my opinion, Virgin Mobile and TracFone offer the most reasonable pay as you go cellular phones for senior citizens. Virgin Mobile charges $20 for 200 minutes, $30 for 400 minutes, or $50 for 1000 minutes. You can also choose a $.20/minute basic plan. TracFone airtime minutes cost $20 for 60 minutes. My first wireless phone was an inexpensive Kyocera cell phone from Virgin Mobile. I was very pleased with Virgin’s customer service.
