Administrative Professional /Secretary Day Ideas

Administrative Assistant

Administrative Professional Day also known as Secretary’s Day is celebrated the Wednesday in the last full week of April (the 23rd this year). Many larger companies are finally observing this holiday. However there are some privately owned companies and smaller companies that don’t really take the time to acknowledge this important day.

If you are a CEO, office Manager, boss or supervisor to anyone that works as a secretary or administrator to you, you should take the time to acknowledge these people. Many offices and companies are too busy in todays world to take the time and acknowledge a person for their good work. It’s important to make your employees know that they are useful and important to you.

Here are just a few ideas on how you could show them that you are thankful for their hard work throughout the year.

Flowers
If your office or company is on a low budget, maybe you could just have a small flower or plant arrangement sent to them to brighting up their day and desk.

In Office Lunch
Another low budget gift would to treat them to a little lunch within the office. You could do some sub or sandwich trays and a few sides or to keep it even more simple order boxed lunches or a few pizzas to show your appreciation.

1/2 day
You could surprise your staff by sending them home after only working a half day but pay them for the full day.

Pedicure/Manicure
A pedicure or a manicure depending where you live would run about $20.00 – $50.00. This is a great gift idea for middle budget companies. Get a gift card from a local place and their next pedicure or manicure could be on you, Pop the gift card into a nice card and you are done.

Take Them Out to Lunch
Do your research and read some restaurant reviews. Treat your employees to a nice lunch at a restaurant that they normally would not go to on their own. Make sure you plan it right though, do your research and know what your employees eat, make sure there is something on the menu for everyone.

A Day at the Spa
This would be for more of an office/company that has a much higher budget. Treat your Administrative Assistant or your secretary to a day at a spa. This is becoming more and more popular. Look into different spas that are in the area. Many of them now offer a full day pf pampering with lunch and wine included. You could look into the cost of this and get a gift certificate to put in a card. Usually depending on the class of the spa and the services that are included you can find these packages anywhere from $150.00 up to $500.00

A Weekend Away
This would be recommended for an Administrative Assistant or Secretary that has been an exceptional side kick and employee all year long. Many hotels offer gift cards or weekend packages. Be realistic, know what your employee can and can’t manage as far as traveling. The Marriott offers all kinds of gift cards. You could purchase a gift card to cover a weekend stay for your employee and spouse or a friend. Maybe if you’d like even add in a gift card for dinner for two to go along with it the weekend stay.

The options are limitless! Don’t forget to acknowledge that special person that does all your dirty work ,and probably puts out endless fires before they even reach you.
