A Review of Kirk’s Castile Soap

Castile Soap, Virgin Coconut Oil

I’m in the midst of an eczema breakout and was searching for a soap that wouldn’t aggravate my skin. I purchased Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap from my neighborhood Kroger. Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap claims on the package to be soothing and gentle. Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap also claims to have no harmful chemicals like other soaps do.

I don’t know what Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap have inside; but whatever ingredients it does have burned very badly. And I thought that if Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap burned this bad while I was in the midst of an eczema breakout; then it can’t possibly be healthy when my breakout subsides.

My skin literally became rougher in the shower; and the places where I had broken out started to feel like goosebumpy. I grabbed the only thing I could think of that might not hurt and was pleased that it washed the Kirk’s soap off without irritation. I used my Summer’s Eve Feminine Body Wash. I usually only used it for my female parts; but was desperate for something gentle to wash the Kirk’s Castile off. The Summer’s Eve worked; and my skin relaxed. It wasn’t highly moisturizing; but at least my skin was okay.

Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap comes in a white package with navy blue writing. It has a pleasant smell. The soap cost about $3.83 for 3 bars.

I thought it would be a safe buy because I’ve used castile soap many times before. I also take virgin coconut oil internally on a regular basis. Kirk’s Castile Coco Soap package said it contained no harmful chemicals; so I was very pleased.

I was a bit shocked and disappointed with this purchase. I’d hoped it would’ve worked better for all its boasting on the package. Ironically, I left my Summer’s Eve at my boyfriend’s house along with some other toiletries I’d forgotten to pack and was once again 2 days later without soap. I said, “oh, what the heck,” and grabbed the Coast. I’ve used Dial Antibacterial when I wasn’t broken out; so I thought maybe the Coast would at least be tolerable until I can get to the toiletries I left at my boyfriend’s.

Well; it turns out that deoderant soap has been the best so far. Better than all of it. It even seems to be helping my eczema clear up a bit. It doesn’t burn at all and my skin has become somewhat smoother since I added it to my routine. I’ve used Coast and have been using my boyfriend’s soap, Summers Eve or whatever deoderant soap has been available to me since this happened.
