LCD screens are the in-thing and perhaps this $350 LCD is one of the most sought-after monitors in the market recently. With its sleek design with a black finish, the ViewSonic VP2365wb is at par with the design of the LCD giants Samsung and Dell.
Since the ViewSonic VP2365wb is an LCD monitor, the depth of the screen is just 1.1 inches deep. On the other hand, it has a foot stand that has a diameter of 9 inches that allows the monitor to swivel back and forth for ease of use. The monitor also tilts at a 20 degrees angle and can be rotated to 90 degrees. However, the foot stand is not solid enough so the monitor can easily topple down if knocked over.
When it comes to connectivity, the ViewSonic VP2365wb has a DVI connector as well as USB port. However, in order to get to the USB port, you need to adjust the monitor first by pivoting it downward.
It is good to know that the display button can be easily located on the bottom of the bezel. The button includes the picture adjustments. When it comes to picture adjustment, you can set the brightness, the temperature and other standard controls. On the other hand, the pixels produced by the ViewSonic VP2365wb are 1,920 x 1,080 making it a true High-Definition Monitor.
What is amazing about the picture adjustments of the ViewSonic VP2365wb is its ability to save energy. Lowering the brightness level also lowers the consumption of energy by the monitor.
However, when we did an energy consumption test, we found out that the ViewSonic VP2365wb consumed 40.14 watts in its default mode compared to the 30.09 watts from Samsung. I guess the ViewSonic VP2365wb is not such energy-efficient at all.
Unfortunately, The ViewSonic VP2365wb poorly passed the color test when we tested it. In fact, the image color is not as precise as what is expected from the original color and that the brightness is relatively low on the ViewSonic VP2365wb making the images to appear a bit dull on the screen for both movie viewing and gaming. Even the movie Kill Bill Vol.1 and the Warcraft Game were not spared with the bad image quality.
Since the ViewSonic VP2365wb can be shifted from different angels, the colors shifted to 45 degrees for both sides when shifted. However, the changes are only minimal compared to other LCD monitors. On the other hand, the monitor neither did nor lags when it comes when we tested it together with Samsung XL2370.
The good thing about the ViewSonic VP2365wb is that it comes with a three year warranty for all the parts including labor. Moreover, the company also has a 24/7 phone and e-mail technical support. Unfortunately, chat support is not available.
The ViewSonic VP2365wb is fairly cheap compared to other LCD giants but still, it is nonetheless, a great LCD to invest on. Although its performance cannot excel from that of Samsung nor Dell, it is still a great LCD monitor that can meet up with your needs especially if the image quality does not bother you as much.
