Pizza Hut’s Spicy Sicilian Review

Pizza Hut, Sicilian

I absolutely love spicy food. While looking over Pizza Hut’s new condensed menu, I happened to notice a pizza called the Spicy Sicilian. After reading the description, I was hooked. This was definitely a pizza I was going to love – though I had no idea just how hot it would be. When you order this bad boy, be sure to order a pitcher of water to go with it and here’s why.

First of all, the Spicy Sicilian from Pizza Hut is topped with ground beef, Italian sausage, red onions and jalapeno slices. And, no these aren’t pickled jalapenos. These peppers fresh, have the seeds and all the heat. The pizza also seemed to have two layers of cheese, but I don’t know if that’s normal or just something that they do at my local Pizza Hut.

The reason this pizza is so incredibly spicy is that it is absolutely loaded with jalapeno slices. You don’t get just a little heat from this pie, you get fire and the burn is oh so good. If you have problems with spicy foods, take note that they aren’t kidding when they call it spicy. Some restaurants use the term and the food lacks real heat, but not this time.

The combination of beef, sausage, red onions and jalapenos is delicious. The red onion adds a bit of sweetness and the ground beef and sausage add different textures to the crisp onion and jalapeno slices. Paired with a pan crust, you’ve got a winning taste and texture combination. And, just in case you’re wondering, this pizza actually tastes better cold than it does hot.

I rate the Spicy Sicilian 5 out 5 stars. If you’re looking to try something new at Pizza Hut – and love spicy food – this is definitely worth trying. And, here’s a little secret. If you want the pizza to be even spicier, skip the regular sauce and ask them to use hot wing sauce instead. You’ll add an extra punch of heat without ruining the flavor of the pizza. If you do find the pizza too spicy though, ask for some ranch dressing to drizzle over the pizza. It works like a charm and tastes delicious.
