Owner’s Review: Fresh Step Cat Litter

Cat Box, Cat Litter, Outdoor Projects

I love Fresh Step Cat Litter and so do the cats I live with. It has a pleasing scent, eliminates odors of urine and fecal matter, and turns the liquid in to solid clumps that hold together when scooped.

Tracking is no more prevalent with this litter than with any other. It comes in a cardboard box, which can be put out with in the recycling bin.

I use the Fresh Step Cat Litter in my Littermaid automatic cat box. It’s one of the few litters recommended, as my cats really do not like the original litter made for it. Although the original is a truly green product- ground dried corn cobs- it does have an overwhelming smell of corn, and the feel of it seems to put the cats off.

The Littermaid box scoops the urine balls and the fecal matter without any trouble at all. Scent granules in the litter are designed to release a pleasant smell when disturbed, so when kitty does her business and when the box finishes it’s business, the area smells better.

An added bonus to Fresh Step is the Paws Points program. Each box has a coupon for points. I enter the code from the back of the coupon into the Fresh Step Paws Points website, and eventually I accumulate points toward prizes for my cats. I have received feline first aid kits, cat throws with a paw print on it just for my cat. Two years ago, I accumulated enough points for three blankets- one for each cat. I attached a monogram of the first letter of their names to each blanket and gave it to them for Christmas. They seemed to know right away whose blanket was whose. Shipping and handling is a set price, so you know that’s all you’re paying to receive the prize.

The price is a little high, but the product is worth the expense. Having the prize points as an added bonus is even better.

I try to find coupons for this product whenever possible, so I can keep my cats in the luxury they have come to expect.

Fresh Step Cat Litter is available at grocery and big box stores. It is available online, but I would only buy it with free shipping.
