Warehouse Retail Stores: Are They True Shopping Bargains?

Pizza Rolls

Sometimes less is more-but other times more is better. For that reason, having a membership to a warehouse retail store is a sound investment.

Warehouse retailers are great places to purchase items in bulk that can be easily stored away. Toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags are huge every day sought out items.

Alcohol is another vast purchase as they can be cheaper than a liquor stores prices.

Deals can often be found on cereal – though not always on your favorite.

Have you been to the candy aisle lately? No wonder so many small business owners shop only from these places. They can make a tidy little profit from these stores. Nevertheless, to normal folk all that really adds up to are empty calories because if there is candy in the house-it must be consumed. That is the American way!

Frozen entrees and freezer items are sure bargains at such places. Catering firms benefit from these stores tremendously not only in time, but in money. Caterers and cooks can purchase five pounds of chicken breasts for approximately six dollars. Sausages and egg rolls are two other great deals. These are easily stored in freezer, even if your finite amount of space is smaller than most. Why? Because these items either already are or can be individually wrapped, taking up less space. Have children? Then pizza rolls can be a crafty deal there as well. (On the other hand, even if you do not have children, that just means less sharing.)

Most usually have pizza available at less than a take out, delivery or even a frozen pizza from the grocery store-and edible to boot.

We all know people who have become carried away with the notion of warehouse shopping and no matter the taste, the absorbency, the quality, or the texture— it was too good a deal to pass up.

We do not have to be like that in order to locate bargains when shopping at warehouse retail stores.

Take stock of what you need and go in there with a list. Items we use daily such as toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, and vitamins can all be purchased at relatively low cost and none is too bulky to fit into your home. Shampoos can be transferred into smaller bottles. Toothpaste can be stored under sinks or in linen closets.

Honorable mention goes to Craisins- I have never failed to purchase a bag (healthy to boot!) and it will last a month — for six dollars. It stores well in my pantry and I can take a small snack baggie of them to work every day.

If you have not joined a warehouse club because of the membership fees and you not thinking you will save money in the end, think again. Some bargain you will discover and that will keep you a return customer. Money will be saved. My friend’s grandmother is a firm believer that milk is cheaper at warehouse stores. And that is that to her.

My sister loves to shop at her warehouse store. We usually divvy up what she has purchased between our mom and each other. Less bulk in our homes that way is one way of looking at it-another is wow-I am glad she bought the paper towels. Now I do not have to. We also shop for movies and books there- for a less price than you would find at a video or bookstore.
