Ski Resorts in Western New York

New York State, Nordic Skiing

The North West area of New York State is known as the snow belt. And deservedly so. It is not unusual for this area to receive more than 250 inches of snow a season. It is easily accessible from Northern Pennsylvania, Ohio and Toronto, Canada. These are four season resorts, and in the winter they offer every type of winter sport. They are family friendly, all of them have ski and snowboaring classes. The season starts early up here. The first snow fall is usually the end of October with skiing starting the beginning of November. While in the area, checkout the wineries. This is one of the largest wine producing areas in New York State.
