912FoodtoGo.Com: Savannah’s Delivery Service

Delivery Service

Savannah is a town that sort of sprawls lazily over the landscape, content to take up as much room as necessary in order to be comfortable. Unfortunately, what this means if you wanted food, you had a couple of options: go for a drive, call out for pizza, or make it yourself. Going for a drive in Savannah traffic has its own set of problems, but that comes from the fact that the city sprawls as previously mentioned. This is why 912FoodtoGo.com is an idea whose time has come.

My older brother was the first person to introduce me to 912FoodtoGo.com. He saw one of their cars on the highway and was intrigued by the idea. He came home and gave me the url. I looked up the website at 912FoodtoGo.com and was immediately intrigued by the fact that this company was doing something which was so extremely simple.

Restaurants, such as Applebee’s and Chili’s, started offering drive up pick up in order to compete with the drive-thru window of the fast food places. All 912FoodtoGo.com did was become the delivery service to connect the restaurant to the home consumer.

How it works:

The consumer contacts 912FoodtoGo.com through their website and open an account. Once you have your account, you pick the zip code for your delivery. This determines the restaurants in your delivery area. Then you pick out your restaurant and place your order. What you are paying for is the food and a minor fee for the delivery. Just like with pizza, tipping your driver is good for them.

Your account allows you to save your previous orders so if you are one of those creatures of habit (like me), you don’t have to go back and find all the information again.

What is really ingenious:

912FoodtoGo.com does not charge the restaurants to be listed on their service. While this would seem rather silly, it is actually a great idea. The restaurants involved are given extra sales without being given an extra fee. This is a win-win for them. Instead, 912FoodtoGo.com uses a performance based system. They take out a percentage to cover their marketing costs out of what the restaurant makes off their service. If the restaurant makes nothing, they pay nothing.

It’s not just for consumers:

912FoodtoGo.com knows that corporations lose time when they have to deal with everyone going out to lunch. So they offer the corporate account option, which includes monthly billing. Food is delivered, your corporation is billed, everyone goes on with their workday without having to leave the building. They also offer catering for company events with trained service staff.

All in all, 912FoodtoGo.com is a company whose time has come, especially for Savannah which has so much great food, but so much distance as to make getting to it prohibitive at times.
