It’s 2012 and spring break is here. Who wants to go to Cancun of Panama City like everyone else? Not you, that’s for sure! All of the cool kids are going to these hot spots for spring break 2012.

Alaska: You can take a cruise to Alaska on Princess Cruises. The four star ship departs from beautiful Vancouver, Canada and includes stops in Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska before completing the voyage in Seattle, Washington five days later. The cost for the cruise is $419 per person, but you will also have to get to Vancouver in order to board the ship. In Juneau you will experience breathtaking views of the capital city of Alaska. Who needs the beach when you are busy viewing plenty of wildlife and glaciers. There is also plenty of shopping at all of the cruise destinations.

Costa Rica: Save the sea turtles in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica. You can still enjoy the sun, have fun and hit the beach, but you will also mix in a sense of purpose as you work on the save the sea turtles project in Costa Rica. A one week stay with the turtles starts at $1059 plus the cost of your flight. If turtles aren’t your thing, then you can still volunteer to teach children or work on houses in Costa Rica. Dubai, United Arab Emirates: If you want to go to a completely different culture than you will find it in this Middle Eastern nation! This is an Islamic country, but they will allow you to buy alcohol. Dubai is home to the world’s tallest building, the world’s biggest mall, and the world’s only seven star hotel. Dubai is also home to the world itself, which was created with man made islands off of the nation’s coast. There is plenty to do in Dubai from indoor skiing to desert safaris, or you can simply relax on one of Dubai’s sandy beaches. Dubai is a world class city that home to dozens of clubs and world class dining. There is something for everyone in this Jewel of the Middle East. Dubai is not an inexpensive trip, so expect to spend $3000 if you are traveling from the US.

United Way alternative Spring Break 2012: You can travel to Tucson, Arizona and share your knowledge with struggling students. This opportunity will look great on your resume, and you get to help kids that desperately need it. Once you are in Tucson you will help in after school programs working directly with kids. There are several activities planned by the United Way. Together with other spring breakers you will help student’s with their homework, coordinating group games, and putting together arts & crafts activities. The total cost after you make it to Tucson is only $275. Hurry up while spots are still available.

Ibiza, Spain: If you aren’t the volunteer type, then head to Ibiza where the party never stops. Ibiza attracts thousands of spring breakers from all over the planet. This Spanish island is home to the biggest club in the world. When you aren’t enjoying the cheap drinks and constant partying, you can try to get away on the sandy beaches of Ibiza. It is a magical island with crystal clear water for all kinds of water sports. The island is also known for its mountain biking and guided tours. Ibiza isn’t as well known as Daytona in the United States, but it is one of the biggest party spots in the world.
