5 Best Miley Cyrus Songs

Miley Cyrus has become a huge star with young girls, especially within the 6-13 year old “tween” market. But I’m a 21 year old college student, and as much as I’m sometimes embarrassed to admit it, I’m a Miley fan too! Here are my Top 5 picks for Miley’s best songs to date.

1. Song Title: The Climb

Album: “Hannah Montana: The Movie Soundtrack

Hands down, this is by far my favorite song from Miley Cyrus. From her hit movie, The Climb appeals to all age groups. It has a great a message for adults and children alike. It has a beautiful melody with even more beautiful lyrics to go with it. I like to listen to The Climb after a rough day because of the inspiration behind the words. It is a simple yet powerful reminder that life isn’t always about the accomplishments themselves. Much of what makes life so worth living is the journey it takes to get to those accomplishments, in other words, The Climb. And despite the fact that this particular song is overplayed on many radio stations, I still love it just the same.

2. Song Title: Butterfly Fly Away

Album: “Hannah Montana: The Movie Soundtrack”

This is a soft and beautiful song that Miley sings with her dad as a tribute to his love as a father. Basically Miley is thanking her dad for raising her as a “caterpillar”, but she’s grown into a butterfly and must fly on her own now. It is absolutely lovely and really highlights Miley’s vocal talents. This could be a great graduation song as children thank their parents for their guidance and parents let go and allow their children to fly the nest. A tear jerker!

3. Song Title: Nobody’s Perfect

Album: “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus”

One of Miley’s earlier hits, Nobody’s Perfect is definitely geared more towards the younger audiences. As the title suggests, the message of this song is that it is okay to make mistakes and that you should keep trying until you succeed. It is a very upbeat song with a quick tempo that puts me in a good mood. I think this is a particularly good song for young girls with low self esteem. It is a good pick-me-up after a bad day.

4. Song Title: Dream

Album: “Hannah Montana: The Movie Soundtrack”

This is a cute upbeat love song. In “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” Miley has her head in the clouds dreaming about being with a cute guy. This song is about her hoping to get together with this guy. Dream has a fun and catchy tune with innocent lyrics.

5. Song Title: 7 Things

Album: “Breakout”

This is one of Miley’s louder “rock star” style songs. It’s an angry love song that appeals most to the tween and teen audiences. Basically the song is about a girl stuck in a love/hate relationship. The lyrics are a little shallow for my tastes, but it’s a decent rocker song.
