Whether you are a professional photographer, an amateur or just want to edit a few home photos on your phone, there are hundreds of handy Android apps out there that you can use to edit and manipulate any digital photo you have.

But out of all the photo editing apps available, which ones are the most useful? In this article, I will list the four most handy photo editing apps to have on your Android device.

Adobe Photoshop Touch
You can’t talk about photo editing apps without mentioning Photoshop. With Adobe Photoshop Touch, you have all the power of Photoshop but in mobile form.

There are currently two different versions of Adobe Photoshop available for Android: Adobe PhotoShop Touch, which is the paid version and has the complete range of features, and Adobe Photoshop Express, which only has very basic photo editing tools. This way, if you’re not sure if you’ll like Adobe Photoshop Touch you can try the free version before buying the full one.

Adobe Photoshop Touch can be had for $9.99 on the Google Play Store.

PicSay
PicSay is a tad bit more on the sillier side of things than most other photo editing apps. Although you do get some useful features such as red eye removal and various color effects, the main use of PicSay is to add silly effects to your photos.

PicSay lets you add word bubbles, fake moustaches and beards, googly eyes and much more to your photos. If you’re looking for a photo editing app that has a fun side to it, then Picsay is a great choice.

Picsay comes in both free and pro versions with the pro version costing $3.99 on the Google Play Store.

Snapseed
Available completely free of charge, Snapseed is perfect if you’re wanting a powerful photo editing app but don’t have the money to pay for some of the more well-known apps.

Snapseed has a lot of the basic photo editing tools you would expect, but also has some nifty features such as auto correct, image tuning, and a load of filters that you can use to spice up your photos.

Best of all, since it costs nothing to download you can try it risk-free.

Pixlr-o-matic
Unlike most other photo editing apps, Pixlr-o-matic focuses primarily on filters and overlays. Pixlr-o-matic is advertised as having more than 5,000,000 possible finishes for your photos with over 100 effects, 280 overlays and almost 200 different borders.

With so many different filters and effects to use you can really spice up your photos. You can make your photos look vintage, give them a dirty grunge look and much more. There is also a randomizer that will add random effects to your photos, often with very interesting results.

You can also share your edited photos to Facebook directly from the app itself, without having to go to Facebook and upload it manually.

Pixlr-o-matic is available for free on the Google Play Store.
