After being divorced for nearly three months, I decided it was time to get into shape. I visited several fitness centers in the area but only one stood out for its exceptional customer service. The 24 Hour Fitness location in St. Charles, Missouri, has an amazingly friendly staff and offers superb customer service in addition to a huge gym with all the essentials.
Before I went into the gym, I called to ask about the rates and fees associated with a membership and to inquire about any sign up specials. I spoke Ashley Hale, Membership Manager, who was very helpful and disclosed the entire membership process. She invited me to come in for a free 7-day trial to sample the facility before making a decision. I had my toddler son with me when I arrived and she offered to let him play in the kids center while she provided me with a thorough tour of the entire facility. The kids center is really cool. My son, who is 2, has never been away from me since I work at home. He was reluctant, but willingly went alone with the child care staff who kept him occupied with video games and toys while I was checking out the gym layout. In the child care area, they also have a huge climbing structure with tubes and slides like you see at McDonalds play land.
Once Ashley completed her tour she offered to let me work out for free and said my son was welcome to stay in the kids club until I completed my workout. I wasn’t prepared to work out, but she had sold me on getting a membership and I asked if I could sign up right away. She took me into her office space which was an open cubical and answered all of my questions in great detail. When I picked up my son from the child care area, he was having so much fun, he didn’t want to leave.
The following day I went back to the gym for my first work out. The staff greeted me at the front desk with a warm welcome and asked if I needed any assistance with anything since I was new. If I needed anything or had any questions the staff was available and friendly, willing to help with anything at the drop of a towel.
I had trial memberships in the area at Gold’s Gym and other facilities and felt ignored, lost, or confused by staff that was rude and uncaring. At 24 Hour Fitness in St. Charles, they were willing to go out of their way to do just about anything for you.
