2010 NBA Draft Lottery Predictions

The 2010 NBA Draft will be held June 24th, 2010 at Madison Square Garden. ESPN will broadcast the draft again this year, which will start at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. The 2010 NBA Draft lottery pick order will be chosen in May similar to the 2009 NBA lottery order. John Wall and Evan Turner look to be the consensus #1 and #2 picks in the 2010 NBA Draft independent of which team(s) get the top two picks in the draft. After #2, the draft picks look like they can vary a bit depending on team needs.

As in past years, the teams that do not make the NBA playoffs will qualify for the draft lottery. The worst team in the league (the New Jersey Nets) will get the highest opportunity to get the #1 pick with the #14th worst team having the least chance. The odds decrease based on worst to best record of the non-playoff teams. Subsequent rounds of the draft do not have their order based on the lottery round.

The following is a prediction for the 2010 NBA draft lottery prior to the completion of the NBA regular season.

2010 NBA Draft Lottery Predictions (Picks 1 – 10)

(Entries order reads: Draft Position in Round, Team, Name, Position, Age, Ht, Wt, College, College Class)

2010 NBA Mock Draft #1 – New Jersey Nets – John Wall PG – 19 years old; 6’3″; 175 lbs. Kentucky, Freshman

John Wall has been the consensus #1 pick in the 2010 NBA draft since before he played a game at Kentucky. Wall finished his freshman season at Kentucky averaging 16.9 ppg, 6.4 apg, 4.2 rpg and shot just under 46% from the field and was a first team All America awardee.
