Coldplay is a popular British alternative rock group originating from London, England. Their music has been loved by many loyal fans ever since they came out with their first hit album, “Parachutes” in 2000. This album quickly reached the tops of music charts in both the United Kingdom and the United States, and according to grammy.com, “Parachutes” was awarded a Grammy award in 2002 for best Alternative Music Album. For several years I have been listening to Coldplay’s awesome and emotion-provoking songs and out of all the wonderful songs they’ve recorded, there are 10 that really stand out as the best from the others.
The Scientist
From their “Rush of Blood to the Head” album that was released in 2002, this song was bittersweet and both saddened and excited me simultaneously, making it an immediate and massive hit in my book.
Yellow
This tremendously catchy song, which was on Coldplay’s debut album “Parachutes,” was kind of addictive, as every time it was played on the radio I couldn’t help singing it.
Rush of Blood to the Head
I didn’t actually become familiar with this song until I purchased the CD a few years after its 2002 release. Boy, was I missing out on a wonderful song! As soon as I heard it I couldn’t stop listening to the amazing music and lyrics.
I think I learned the lyrics to this song in 2 days, since after discovering it I listened to it repeatedly. I didn’t think I’d ever tire of listening to this awesome song that really touched my heart.
Trouble
I nearly cried when I listened to this beautiful song for the first time. Despite the fact that it nearly made me cry, the lyrics and music are so beautiful that I was in absolute awe.
A Whisper
Just like a majority of Coldplay’s other songs, Whisper is a sweet and catchy song that I love to sing to as I enjoy the wonderful music.
Everything’s Not Lost
Another of Coldplay’s songs that evokes emotion in me and causes me to nearly cry, this song is so lovely that I can’t help loving it as I sing along every time I hear it.
Don’t Panic
Like many of their other songs, this lovely and meaningful song touched my soul immediately, causing me to put it on my list of top songs by Coldplay.
Sparks
I guess I’m a sucker for sweet and romantic songs, because this song is one of the loveliest songs of all time, and it is extremely sweet and inspiring.
We Never Change
As usual when it comes to Coldplay’s music, this song is another tearjerker for me. It makes me want to cry because of how unbelievable it is that a song can be so absolutely beautiful and perfect–the music, the lyrics, just every single thing about this song.
