The 10 love songs from the 90’s were commercially and critically successful. Multiple songs on the list won both Grammy and Oscar Awards. They were so popular that you probably remember the lyrics to some of the songs. Surprisingly, a lot of the 10 love songs from the 90’s come from movie soundtracks, which helped spur them into popularity.

  1. “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Elton John. It’s one of the 10 love songs from the 90’s that won a Grammy, and Oscar. The song was in the animated movie “The Lion King” and was featured when lifelong lion friends Simba fell in love with Nala . In 1994 the love song was so popular it was the most played on radio and TV.
  2. “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. The love song from the 90’s was featured in the movie “Armageddon.” It was Aerosmith’s first #1 song, and is about wanting to spend time with a loved one. Lead singer of Aerosmith, Steve Tyler is the father to Liv Tyler, the lead actress in “Armageddon.” Even thought Aerosmith performs the song, it was written by Diane Warren.
  3. “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. Houston made the 90’s love song popular again when it was featured in her movie “The Bodyguard.” The song was written and recorded by country singer Dolly Parton in 1974, and Houston put a soulful R&B; spin on the love song. It was a #1 hit for Houston, and stayed at the top for 14 weeks.To this day, it is one of Houston’s most popular songs because of the timeless elegance she embeded in the track.
  4. “I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)” by Meatloaf. Released on the 1993 album “Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell,” the 90’s love song was a #1 hit. The album version is 12 minutes long, but got cut in half for radio play. Meatloaf won a Best Rock Solo Performance Grammy for the song in 1994. This is also one of Meatloaf’s better known songs, and it has a female singer featured at the end. The couple sing back and forth about how Meatleaf will hurt her, and he always sings back, “I won’t do that.”

The soft and delicate love song won an Oscar and four Grammys , making it a commercial and critical success. When you think of “Titanic” this song comes to mind, and when you think of this song, “Titanic” comes to mind.
  6. “All My Life” by K-Ci & Jojo . The lyrics are about finally finding that perfect person to complete you. It is a great song to play for a new love that can express how you feel. The love song from the 90’s was so popular that the duo featured it on their “Greatest Hits” album.
