Raspberry Leaf Tea for Weight Loss

Organic Raspberry Leaf tea is supposed to support the “female system,” treating women with irregular menstruation and cramps. But can Raspberry Leaf tea help you lose weight? I tried drinking Raspberry Tea to lose weight and give up caffeine for my five days on a diet experiment.

According to the Dr. Elliot Abravanel’s “Body Type Diet and Lifetime Nutrition Plan,” caffeine-free Raspberry Leaf tea should be enjoyed at breakfast, lunch and diet while on the Body Type Diet weight loss plan – but only for the Type T or Thyroid body types. Type T’s are women who typically crave sugar, caffeine and have more severe menstrual cramps.

For the Adrenal A-Types, Abravanel suggests parsley tea; for the Gonadal or G Type, he suggests Red clover tea; for the Pituitary Type or T Type; he suggests Fenugreek seed Tea.

Since I am a Type T, according to the quiz in the “Body Type Diet,” I decided to try caffeine-free Raspberry Leaf Tea for weight loss. Will I lose weight drinking raspberry tea?

I drank the tea starting the first day of giving up caffeine. I did not drink any Dr. Zevia with caffeine or my usual black unsweetened tea with caffeine. I wondered if I would still have caffeine withdrawal headaches, moodiness and insomnia.

Day 1: I drank caffeine free Organic Raspberry Leaf tea by Traditional Medicinal. I drank it warm with breakfast, lunch and dinner. I’m not a major fan of hot tea – but it did curb my appetite. I felt great all day.

Day 2: I made a huge pitcher of the Raspberry Leaf tea and kept it in the refrigerator to drink in between meals. I did have headaches today as part of my caffeine withdrawal. I enjoyed the flavor of the tea. It really tastes a lot like black tea when you add ice, but has the appearance of green tea in my opinion. It did keep me from snacking.

Day 3: I continued to drink the Raspberry Leaf tea with lunch and dinner as well as between meals. I prefer the iced tea over the hot tea because I live in a hot climate. It keeps me refreshed all day. I no longer had headaches from caffeine withdrawal, but felt moody.

Day 4: I felt great – no signs of caffeine withdrawal other than a little moodiness. But the Raspberry Leaf tea seemed to calm my nerves.

Day 5: I’m officially off caffeine! And I think the Raspberry Leaf tea helped me accomplish this. I felt fine all day with no headaches and no moodiness. But did I lose weight drinking tea?

I lost 1 1/2 pounds during the five days by adding Raspberry Leaf tea to my diet.

Can Raspberry Leaf tea really help you lose weight? Yes! But make sure you aren’t purchasing just a raspberry flavored tea!

Tea can definitely be used for weight loss – but which one is right for you may depend on your body type and whether you can tolerate caffeine.

In addition to Red Clover tea, parley tea and Fenugreek seed tea, some people lose weight drinking green tea, Chinese Wu Long tea or Yerba Mate.

If Raspberry Leaf tea does not work for you, try another tea for weight loss.
