Celebrity Babies of 2008!

It’s the year of babies for celebrities! Who has had their babies? Who is pregnant? Here is your one stop for Hollywood baby news!

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcomed their little girl, Harlow Winter Kate Madden into the world on January 10^th. The couple decided to keep the sex of their baby a secret, although Nicole admitted in multiple interviews that she would prefer to know ahead of time. She said she would have found out if Joel hadn’t been to all her ultrasounds! Together they opened the Richie-Madden foundation. This foundation helps out families by supplying them with necessities for their soon to be born children. They had a Wizard of Oz themed baby shower, complete with ruby slipper centerpieces and a live band performing songs from the movie. Instead of receiving gifts for their upcoming baby, they asked that people donate to their foundation. This is the first child for both Nicole and Joel.

Christina Aguilera and her husband, Jordan Bratman, welcomed a son on January 12th named Max Liron! Christina choose to keep quiet about the pregnancy till well beyond the point when she was showing. She had no shortage of people blabbing, including a very public congratulations from Paris Hilton over a microphone at club LAX back in August! She said ‘Congratulations to the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world. You’re gorgeous‘. Christina was obviously taken aback, but continued to keep quiet. In November, Christina finally shared tidbits about her pregnancy with Glamour magazine. She followed this up by posing nude and very pregnant in Marie Claire magazine. They apparently found out the sex, but did not share it with the public. But when you are buying blue baby things, you are pretty much giving it away without saying a word! This is the first child for both Christina and Jordan.

Courtney Thorne-Smith and her husband welcomed their son, Jacob, this morning. They also decided not to find out the sex of their baby.

Stella McCartney and her husband, Alasdhair Willis, welcomed their third child, a son. His name is Beckett Robert Lee, and he was originally due on New Year’s Eve.

Other Hollywood beauties who are expecting include Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman, Brooke Burke, Tanya Haden (Jack Black’s wife) and Halle Berry. Pamela Anderson and Avril Lavigne are both rumored to be pregnant. Both reps are denying, but reps are known to do that early on in the pregnancy, so we’ll see what happens with these two.

Halle Berry and Nicole Kidman are probably the most heartwarming stories of pregnancies. Both women have been trying on and off for years to have children, with no luck. Halle Berry looks gorgeous pregnant, and is still managing to stay fashionable and make pregnant women everywhere jealous of her gorgeous figure. Nicole Kidman just announced her pregnancy days ago, so we have yet to see her sporting a bump, or any change in her figure. These two ladies will be the ladies to watch this year!

Nobody expected Jessica Alba to announce that she was pregnant, or to announce her engagement this year. She was recently quoted as saying “It’s the best time ever. I have two movies coming out, a baby, a fiancée – everything”.

This is definitely the year for celebrity babies! Only time will tell how many more celebs will end up pregnant and giving birth this year!
