Alice’s Tea Cup: New York City Dining

There is a Starbuck’s, Peet’s or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on almost every corner in every city in every suburb. There is a certain comfort about the sameness when you are just in need of a good cup of Joe but there is also something lost. The good folks at Alice’s Teac Cup in New York City are all too aware of this and have set their destinations completely apart and have become the perfect places to go when you just need a trip down the rabbit hole.

Alice’s Tea Cup is located at 102 West 73rd street if you happen to be on the Upper West Side and just dropped the kids off for some gymnastics at New York Kids Club. On the East Side of town you can head on over to 220 East 81st street for a girls luncheon after some shoe shopping at Bloomingdales. If you are anywhere in the middle then you should certainly check out my wife’s favorite spot at 156 East 64th Street. All three Alice’s Tea Cup locations are open from 8am to 8pm.

Walking into Alice’s Tea Cup you will be greeted with art from the classic Wonderland tale. Tea takes center stage here at Alice’s Tea Cup and you are invited to sit in peace and sip as cell phones and mad hatters singing new cup, new cup, move down, move down are prohibited. All teas are brewed fresh in piping hot water and served in the their own cute pots.

At Alice’s Tea Cup one can choose from white tea, green tea, herbal tea, decaf tea, green flavored tea, black tea blends, organic tea, red tea blends, Tisane tea, black tea and organic decaf tea. To pair with your choice of tea from Alice’s Tea Cup you can get a myriad of snacks and be sure to try the cakes. For brunch at Alice’s you should try the scones, crepes, eggs or oatmeal. For lunch at Alice’s Tea Cup pick from scones, soups and sandwiches both grilled and regular. After hours head on over to Alice’s Tea Cup and delight in teas all dolled up with rums, vodkas and even champagne. For your next event or birthday party Alice’s can makes cakes as whimsical as their location.
