The Best Foods to Eat to Stop Acne

Acne is a skin condition that affects many individuals starting from teenage years to early adults. The length of the condition and the intensity is dependant on the individuals. There are many treatments for acne available; some are chemically made medications, while others are natural like herbs and food.

Some people prefer the herbal treatment over the chemical based medication as it is made fully from botanicals which makes it organic and have very little or no side effects on people.

Most of the herbal acne treatment is based on drinking tea. Tea is a beverage made from plant components such as leaves, flowers or other plant parts. Tea also helps relieve stress which might be the cause of acne. Therefore drinking either chamomile or lavender tea will also help you in relieving stress as well as helping you control acne. By far tea as an herbal treatment is the most effective.

Another herbal treatment is ingesting capsules of blackcurrent or primrose seed oil. These can be very effective also if taken in the prescribed strength accordingly to the severity of the break outs.

Aloe Vera and tea tree oil are another herbal antibacterial treatment which can be used. This prevents breakouts by keeping the face clean and irritant free. It is usually diluted before being applied to the face, and helps in the healing of infected pimples.

There are also foods that should be avoided to help prevent acne. You have to pay attention to what you are eating as different foods will have different effects of individuals. Keep note of what you ate when acne appears and try to avoid that food.

Dairy products can also be a problem with some females as their skin can not handle it. So once again you have to pay attention to what dairy food you are eating when acne appears. Before cutting down on dairy products you will have to consult your doctor.

There is still a debate going on about whether refined sugar is a cause of acne. For many years the winning side is that refined sugar is not a direct cause of acne. However there are no hard medical data to support this claim and therefore you can use some observational data to come to conclusion.

The skin condition acne did not exist in parts of the world that did not consume processed foods. But since the introduction of processed foods to these parts of the world, acne has started to thrive. Observing this many doctors are agreeing to the contribution of processed foods and refined sugar to the contributing problem of acne.

Fruits and vegetables are a good source of curing acne. They are on top of the list of foods that help cure acne. The consumption of raw fruits and vegetables releases vitamins and minerals that help combat acne.

Another thing to do is to change the oil you use for cooking to olive oil. Although it won’t help cure acne it will definitely help in the reduction of the effects acne has on your skin.
