Review for Donovite Canine

Dinovite is a nutritional supplement for dogs and cats. I ordered it initially because the radio ad said it helped get rid of that bad dog smell. I got a lot more than I expected. I’ve been adding Dinovite to my dogs’ food for almost a year and have seen big improvements in their health and temperament.

Dinovite is an all natural supplement developed by a family in Kentucky who was looking for the healthiest way to feed their animals. The idea behind the supplement is to give pets the nutrition not found in store bought pet food.

These nutrients boost your pet’s immune system, which will improve their overall health. Dinovite claims their supplements help with excessive shedding, skin lesions, digging, itching and low energy. Owners should see healthy changes in as little as three months. They also say their supplement is safe for puppies and pregnant dogs.

The original Dinovite Canine is made with flax, kelp meal, alfalfa, zinc and various vitamins, minerals and grains. Digestive enzymes, called direct-fed microbials are added, as well as omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.

Although I bought Dinovite to help with my dog Misha’s “doggie” smell I was surprised to see how much it helped her allergies and skin problems. Several times a year allergies caused her to lick her legs and feet bald. The irritations were so bad she had sores and blisters. At other times her skin was so dry she scratched and whined constantly. She looked awful and felt miserable.

Now, Misha’s allergies are almost completely gone. She hasn’t lost any hair, had no chewed skin areas, and does not scratch and itch like she did before.

Another added benefit is the effect it’s had on my 12-year-old cocker spaniel. Zoey suffers from a degenerative spinal disease that leaves her feeling stiff and sore, much the way arthritis does. Her personality is like a puppy’s; she loves to run, jump and play with her toys, but when her back is hurting, she’s grumpy and slow.

Dinovite has improved her mobility and her disposition. Dinovite is not a pain reliever, and there are times when Zoey needs medication, so I’m not really sure why this works for her. But her general health has improved, and the need for pain medications has decreased. She has more energy and her old spunk back.

Dinovite is a powder that you mix with your pet’s food. It comes in a tub with a small scoop. The sizes vary from three pints to five gallons. I bought the 5 pound tub, which came with feeding instructions for both dogs printed on the lid. The suggested dosage is one tablespoon a day, per 10 pounds of body weight.

Zoey will eat anything you put in front of her, but it took Misha a few weeks to get used to having it mixed with her food. Now she loves it and won’t eat until I’ve added her Dinovite.

Unfortunately, Misha still smells bad sometimes, but Dinovite also sells a line of shampoos, Dog-O-Suds, which promises “that new dog smell.

Besides the shampoo and the original canine supplement, Dinovite also sells Carnoyum which is a protein based nutritional supplement for dogs, Dinovite Feline and salmon oil. They offer a 90-day money back guarantee. Check out their website for more information, testimonials and ordering: www.dinovite.com
