Product Review of Boost Plus

So often what I need is a Boost Plus to bring my energy level up. The two flavors I like are chocolate and strawberry. The regular Boost has I believe 240 calories but this little beauty packs a whopping 360 calories. I will normally have half the bottle which is 4 ounces when I just don’t have time to eat.

When I am working crazy shifts as a caregiver it would be so easy for me to eat ice cream, cookies, or chocolate but I discipline myself to have something that is good for me. Too many times in the past, when working a 12 hour night, I have finally fallen asleep around 4.00 a.m. and woken a few minutes later with my tummy rumbling. I find Boost Plus eliminates this problem.

Now with my clients, so many of them have either Ensure or Boost in one form or another to ensure they get a well-balanced meal with plenty of vitamins and minerals.

I had one lady that almost lived on Boost Plus. Whenever I did a day visit with her she would rather have the Boost Plus than food. Actually she called Boost Plus food. The 360 calories per 8-ounce bottle (237 ml) is Doctor recommended and is used to either maintain or gain weight as necessary. By having 3 bottles a day she was getting over 1,000 calories. This is more than enough for someone who never went out of the house.

Boost Plus calls itself a nutritional energy drink and I think that is a great description of it. It comes in a flat bottle, which is great for taking up minimal space in the refrigerator. The bottle is a brown/reddish color with a bright label. It has a screw cap and a seal beneath it. Around the neck of the bottle it has the sell by date.

During an illness, you may not have the appetite to eat as many of the healthy foods you normally would eat. Good nutrition is especially important if you’re undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy, treatment for HIV, or if you have other illnesses which affect your appetite and/or interest in preparing meals. Boost Plus gives you high protein and concentrated calories you need to help you gain weight, or stay at your normal weight.

Boost Plus comes in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I haven’t tried the vanilla so am unable to give you an opinion on that one. The strawberry is a little on the sweet side but still okay. If you want more variety then try the regular boost that has 6 flavors.

They also make a Boost with benefiber if you need it.

Always remember that if you open a bottle it must be refrigerated, especially here in Florida. In no time at all it will turn.
