Nature Made Zinc – Supplement Review

My local grocery store was having a sale on Nature Made vitamins and supplements. Since I like to have a healthy lifestyle, I wanted to pick up different types of supplements and try them out. I decided to purchase the Nature Made zinc supplement. Zinc is very beneficial for the immune system and with, so many colds and flu’s going around I thought this one was a good choice. I purchased a bottle of 100 tablets at 30mg each. I brought my bottle home and this is what I found out.

The Nature Made zinc supplements active ingredient is called Zinc Gluconate. The supplement also has many different inactive ingredients such as dibasic calcium phosphate, cellulose gel, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and stearic acid, titanium dioxide as artificial color, sodium citrate, polysorbate 80, triethyl citrate, polyethylene glycol, cronscarmellose sodium, and magnesium stearate. The zinc tablet should be taken once a day with a meal. Zinc tablets should be kept out of reach of children just as any other supplement. The next day after bringing home my new bottle of Nature Made zinc is when I started testing this supplement. I took it in the morning with a glass of water. The tablet was very easy to swallow and didn’t leave much of an aftertaste. I went about my day and didn’t notice any side effects. Adding a zinc tablet to my diet is a good and healthy choice. Zinc has been known for its benefits in warding off colds and flu’s. Many cold and flu remedies even contain zinc. Cough drops will commonly contain zinc as an active ingredient. I do think if, I continue to take my zinc tablets daily they will help to keep colds and flu’s away. After taking these tablets for about a week, I still have not had a cold or flu. I know this is a very short time to determine if the supplement is effective or not. But, I will continue to take them daily for prevention purposes. Many will not take a zinc tablet daily and will only use zinc when they are coming down with a cold or flu. This can be helpful as well as it may lessen the severity of the cold or flu and possibly shorten the duration. The zinc tablets are relatively inexpensive and, I am sure it will not hurt adding a little extra zinc to my diet so; I will continue taking these for as long as I can. I would recommend Natures Made zinc supplements to anyone that wants to keep colds and flu away.
