Lodi & Galt, CA Farmers Markets

Farm fresh produce, a cool summer breeze, a stroll along the shady lanes of a quaint downtown setting, and you’ve got Lodi’s Downtown Certified Farmers Market, it’s the summer hot spot to be at in Lodi, CA. With over 5,000 visitors a week this downtown attraction has everything, over 25 different local farms with their fresh produce delectably displayed, fresh peaches, nectarines, apricots and grapes of all varieties, mouth watering cherries, and vegetables, like tomatoes and green peppers, just to name a few, along with 50 different homemade & commercial arts and craft venders all set up under nature’s canopy’s that accentuate the tree lined streets, this is the place to be in the summer. This Downtown Certified Farmers Market is offered free of charge every Thursday night, running from June till the end of September, starting at 5:00 pm the streets are blocked off from Lodi Avenue to Locust, along School street. Even if you don’t want or need anything you can stroll, and relax probably seeing a couple of old friends or your neighbors strolling the street also. The people emerge on the open booths as they take in all the open market has to offer. Some of the local shops are open for business, as well as outside dining pleasures. Wine tasting is offered and live music is also a special feature, with their themed nights you can have a good time and enjoy a Hawaiian theme, Mardi-gra, or western theme to make the evening more fun. There are also nights with dance performers and comedy acts. This is definitely a fun place to spend a summer Thursday evening.

Galt Certified Farmers Market

Nearby Galt also has a free, Thursday night, Certified Farmers Market from 5pm -8pm. This Farmers Market runs from’ A ‘Street to’ C ‘Street along Lincoln Way. They are a small bunch of local venders, and with produce at its peak of the season these local farms are selling their fine, fresh produce; along with these produce venders the Galt downtown Farmers Market offers lively music and announcements for any of the venders that would like something special announced. A Magical place is a fun place for kids in town to have parties or spend the afternoon. A Magical Place shares their talent at the open market doing balloon art and face painting for the kids. New Hope School gives out candy for the kids and they too have face painting. New Hope preschool/daycare/ & Kindergarten offers $25.00 off the registration fee for picking up and returning the required forms to the school office. Teachers and staff are available for questions. Jewelry and fine crafts are displayed for sale at the Galt Farmers Market and along with all the delicious, fresh produce this Farmers Market is just the right place to be to get a good deal. There will be a classic car show and Bingo cards to have completed by the vendors for a chance to win $100.00. This Downtown Certified Farmers Market is free and as you are strolling along the street there’s a good chance you will see an old friend and chat while you are browsing.
