Homeopathic Travel Kit: Essential Items

Anyone traveling should have a good first aid kit. You never know when stings, cuts, scrapes, headaches, fever or anything else will hit your beloved family. Homeopathic medicine is based in homeopathy where a plant, herb or mineral is used to treat the disease/problem that is the same as the symptom the person affected has. The homeopathic medicine is used in small or minute doses to produce the symptoms; this is the body’s way of fighting off the disease/problem. The study of homeopathy has been going on since the 18th century but has been refined and popularized in today’s culture. A simple homeopathic travel kit is easy to make either by yourself or by visiting your local herb/organic/homeopathic shop.

There are 5 things you need to prepare a homeopathic travel kit. Bandages and Sterile Adhesive Pads, Echinacea Tincture, Healing Salve used with a mixture of herbs, Arnica Homeopathic Remedy and Lavender Essential Oil. All these items can be bought separately or in pre-made kits. These items work for everything from stings to fevers.

The first item in your natural homeopathic travel kit is bandages and sterile adhesive pads. These are important to any first aid kit but to make your travel kit natural use bandages and adhesive pads made from organic materials. These can often be found at any natural foods store or your local herb shop. Place at least 10 bandages and 5 sterile pads in your kit.

Echinacea Tincture is the next ingredient in your homeopathic travel kit. Echinacea root is used to make this tincture with an alcohol base. This item can be made at home or it can be bought in your local herb shop already prepared. Echinacea is used for many things among them as an immune system stimulant and as a great anti-bacterial solution.

Healing Salve made with a mixture of herbs can also be made from herbs found at home. You can buy it pre-made or you can make it with the herbs you feel work best for you. The herb mixture basic for this salve is St. John’s Wort, Comfrey, calendula and plantain. Using beeswax and lavender essential oil will complete this salve. Rub it on aches, inflammations, cuts, scrapes and even chapped lips.

Arnica Homeopathic Remedy is best bought in its completed form from an herb specialist or from a homeopathic store. Arnica is used in pellet or liquid form in very mild doses. It is best used for soft tissue injury which includes falls and sprains but it also reduces pain and bleeding. It also helps healing accelerate.

Lavender Essential Oil is the last item that your homeopathic travel kit should include. Again this item can often be bought pre-made or you can make it yourself with the lavender plant. Lavender promotes relaxation, sleep and soothes the body through aromatherapy. This is also a great product for those who suffer from nausea when traveling. A dab of it in the right place will relax your body and thus help with motion sickness.

All of these items are perfectly sized for your homeopathic travel kit. It takes up the same amount of space that a regular first aid kit does yet it is made with herbal ingredients that are better for your body. Keep safe when traveling but for those uh-oh moments keep one of these kits on hand. You won’t be disappointed.
