Equate Multivitamins: Brand Name Quality at a Fraction of the Price

If you’re in the market for a multivitamin that works as well as most major brands at a fraction of the price, Equate Men’s Health Formula One Daily Multivitamin might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Equate, a generic store brand carried by Wal-Mart that makes everything from ibuprofen to hair growth formula to hand soap, offers a multivitamin that is comparable in quality as well as ingredients to major brands such as Centrum, GNC, and others.

I have used Equate Headache Relief tablets in the past, and besides the excellent price I paid for them I was greatly impressed with their rapid delivery and prolonged effectiveness. And as someone who suffers from semi-frequent migraines, headache pills are my lifeline in times of need and my choice of brand is never to be taken lightly. The headache tablets worked just as well as the much pricier Excedrin Migraine tablets, and both brands featured an identical set of ingredients. With this in mind, I set out to give Equate multivitamins a try over four years ago–and I haven’t looked back since.

The best feature of Equate multivitamins is the price. Priced at under $4.00 for 100 tablets at most Wal-Mart location in the United States, Equate is one of the most affordable multivitamins on the market. And not only that, but Wal-Mart regularly offers special in-store specials with Equate products, allowing consumers to get 120 and even 130 tablets for the price of 100.

The formulation of equate multivitamin is nearly identical to Centrum, with high amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, B6, B12, Selenium, and dozens of other vitamins and minerals. Equate Men’s formula is uniquely directed to serving the concerns of the male body, offering Lycopene, a substance found in red tomatoes that can help prevent prostate cancer, as well as heart disease and other types of cancer. With such a similar host of vitamins and minerals in both products, it’s amazing that Equate can offer its product for so much less.

The smallest bottle of multivitamins offered by Wal-Mart is 100 tablets, but there is also a larger 200 tablet bottle running at just over $6.00 in most stores for those who look to save money by buying in bulk. The capsule is about average size for a once-daily multivitamin, but for those who have trouble swallowing large pills there is an ‘actual size’ representation of the tablet on the front of thefor the consumer’s reference. The tablet doesn’t taste great and has a strong vitamin-like smell, so I would advise taking it with a flavored drink such as tea or juice. Also, the tablet isn’t coated as well as some other multivitamins–to be honest, it’s borderline gritty–so for those who have trouble swallowing pills it might be a challenge getting it down.

The recommended dosage is 1 capsule daily, preferably after a meal and with a full glass of water. Be careful to follow the recommended dosage for all multivitamins, as taking more than suggested can cause a dangerous level of nutrient toxicity in the bloodstream.

The edge that name brand vitamins have over Equate is availability. Equate is offered only at Wal-Mart locations, while Centrum and other name brands can be found in most any grocery or retail store that sells vitamins and minerals.

But don’t worry ladies, Equate hasn’t forgotten about you–it also offers a Women’s Health multivitamin that is uniquely formulated to address the nutritional concerns of the female population, so you too can save with Equate.

If you want to get more for your spend, take an affordable chance and give Equate a try–your body will be glad you did.
