I love peanut butter and one of my favorite candies is Reese’s Pieces. Reese’s Pieces are great on their own, but being the creative person that I am, I had to try adding them to different desserts and snacks. If you also love this candy, you may want to try some of these ideas.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #1: Trail Mix
Trail mix is a great energy booster, as is peanut butter. The next time you make trail mix, why not use Reese’s Pieces? The sweetest of the peanut butter tastes great with dried fruit and with dark chocolate chips.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #2: Brownies
If you want a decadent treat, then you must make these brownies. All you need is your favorite type of brownie mix, the ingredients to make it, and Reese’s Pieces. Once the batter is prepared, add the candy and bake according to the package directions. Serve warm with hot fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #3: Frosting
Another way to serve those brownies is to frost them with a peanut butter cream cheese frosting and then add even more Reese’s Pieces. You could also frost peanut butter cookies with vanilla frosting and top with candy as well.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #4: Snack Mix
Last Halloween, I came up with a delicious snack mix. I combined caramel corn, Reese’s Pieces, and several other kinds of my favorite candies. This snack mix was easy to make and you can customize it with your favorite kinds of candy. I do suggest buying theater boxes of candy, which you can find at Walmart for around $1. This way you aren’t left with several open packages of candy.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #5: Ice Cream
If you like to make homemade ice cream, you may want to use Reese’s Pieces in your next batch. A great combination would be vanilla ice cream swirled with a peanut butter sauce and crushed Reese’s Pieces.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #6: Peanut Butter Bananas
Peel four bananas and cut them in half. Place a popsicle stick in the flat end of each banana. Coat the bananas with peanut butter and then roll in Reese’s Pieces. This is a great way to get your kids to eat more fruit.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #7: Cookie Bars
The next time you make peanut butter cookies, stir Reese’s Pieces into your dough. Spread your cookie dough into a 9 x 13 inch pan and bake until the cookies are done. When the cookies are done, allow them to cool on the counter. Frost the cookies with vanilla frosting and top with more candy. Cut into bars and enjoy.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #8: Fudge
Fudge is one of the best candies in the world, but when you combine it with Reese’s Pieces it’s even better. You can use chocolate or peanut butter fudge. Just stir the Reese’s Pieces into the fudge right before pouring it into a greased pan.
Creative Uses for Reese’s Pieces #9: Pies
Would you like a quick and easy dessert? Then all you need to use is a chocolate pie crust, chocolate pudding, whipped topping, and Reese’s Pieces. Add the pudding into the crust followed by the whipped topping. Top with Reese’s Pieces and enjoy.
