Cocoa Puffs Cereal

One of my favorie breakfast foods is chocolate – flavored cold cereal and I regularly eat several different types of it. One of my favorite cold cereals is Cocoa Puffs. Made by General Mills, Cocoa Puffs are round puffs of corn that are chocolate – frosted. I think it would be hard to eat a bowl of this cereal and be entirely serious or angry about anything, because it’s so much fun to eat this cereal. Every time I eat it, I can’t help but think of their spokesbird Sonny exclaiming “I’m cukoo for Cocoa Puffs” on their commercials and that makes me smile.

Eating Cocoa Puffs Cereal is also sort – of nostalgic for me. I used to eat this cereal when I was younger and when I eat it, it often brings back memories of cartoon shows that aired Cocoa Puffs commercials. I am so fond of General Mills Cocoa Puffs Cereal, that I have decided to write a product review of it. Presented here, is an article which reviews and examines General Mills Cocoa Puffs Cereal.

The size of the box of General Mills Cocoa Puffs Cereal being reviewed here is 11.8 ounces. According to the product label, the box holds approximately twelve 3/4 cup servings. A 14.3 ounce box and a 16.5 ounce box of Cocoa Puffs Cereal are also available at many food retailers across America.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 11.8 ounce box of General Mills Cocoa Puffs Cereal at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $2. I think that this price is very reasonable, especially when the great taste, number of servings and overall high quality of the product are taken into consideration. Interestingly, the retail price of many of the other cereals displayed next to the Cocoa Puffs was considerably higher than this General Mills item.

Texture
The texture of Cocoa Puffs Cereal is light, crunchy and enjoyable. Cocoa Puffs are little round balls of corn that have a chocolate coating. They maintain their crispness after floating in milk for quite a while.

I also eat a lot of Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies and I must say, the Cocoa Puffs have a longer staying power when they have met with milk.

General Mills Cocoa Puffs Cereal creates its own chocolate milk as the cereal is submerged in the liquid.

Famous Spokesbird / Slogan
Cocoa Puffs cereal have a famous cartoon character and catch – phrase. Sonny, the cukoo bird has been telling the world that he is “Cukoo for Cocoa Puffs” for many years.

Taste / Flavor
This chocolate – flavored corn cereal features a mellow chocolate flavor that reminds me of hot cocoa. To me, the chocolate flavor is rather subdued, which makes it easy and pleasant to eat first thing in the day. In addition to being a wonderful breakfast cereal served in a bowl of milk, this cereal tastes great when eaten plain, straight – from – the – box, as a snack.

Packaging
Cocoa Puffs Cereal is packaged in a standard – type cardboard cereal box. The front of the box is brown with a large illustration of a smiling Sonny, the Cukoo Bird admiring an abundance of Cocoa Puffs floating in a river of milk. The box is easy to open and it re – closes effectively. There is always something fun and interesting to read on the box and it also lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information.

Overall Rating
General Mills Cocoa Puffs Cereal is a fun and tasty cold cereal that tastes just as good plain, right out of the box, as is does when it is swimming in a bowl of milk. While some consumers might regard this item as being more of a kid’s cereal, I think that its mellow chocolate flavor would be appealing to many people, regardless of age.

Cocoa Puffs Cereal is a reasonably – priced product, with several different – sized boxes available. I remember when I first tried this cold cereal, many years ago. I dd not particularly like its flavor, but later in life, began to appreciate chocolate – flavored cold cereals again. I personally think that eating a bowl of Cocoa Puffs Cereal for breakfast, with some coffee, is a great way to start the day. This cereal is highly recommended.
