7 Cool Inventions of 2010

Though most of these products were technically invented a few years ago, inventors spent all this time perfecting them. These are a few of my favorite cool inventions that are coming out on the market for 2010.

1: Kinect is the Wii competitor created for Xbox. It is an attachment for Xbox 360 with specific games designed for its use. This new system will bring games and entertainment to life. What puts this invention on top of its competitor is the fact that there are no controllers. This means you do not have to remember to charge wireless remotes, or worry about replacing batteries. Kinect will be released this November and already had eight games that will be available for purchase. If this is your type of gaming, you can pre-order the system now.

2: An inventor in Switzerland developed an interior composting device, which decomposes organic waste rapidly all while eliminating bad odors. This allows us to use the device indoors. The cool part about this fancy compost station is that it will filter the compost for us to make it into fertilizer.

3: D Box MFX Seats are the newest inventions to enhance our movie theater experience. These seats move with the movie and provide better sound quality because speakers are built into the seats. Imagine moving along with Spiderman as he swings across New York City. You will feel like you are part of the action.

4: DXG 5D7V This is not your typical camcorder, its the world’s first 3D camcorder. It comes with a 3.2 inch LCD camcorder display. The camera also records 2D images and photos. Included with the new camcorder is touch-screen technology and a remote control. The coolest selling point of this 2010 invention is the fact that no glasses are needed to enjoy the 3D display. Unfortunately, this product is still quite expensive.

5: Pure Water Bottle was created by a young man in Britain. He was backpacking across Europe and was tired of the long process to purify water. The water still tasted horrible after the half hour spent cleaning it. Therefore, he developed a water bottle that purifies even the most soiled and contaminated water in 120 seconds. The bottle has an inner and outer chamber, with a crank that activates the UV sterilization process. This invention is perfect for the outdoorsy adventurers. What’s really cool about this 2010 invention, is the fact that this could change the lives of Third World Nations forever.

6: AR Drone is a quadricopter that can be controlled by an iPhone, iPod touch or an iPad. Fly it by yourself or dogfight with your friends. This interesting new helicopter can be used indoors or outdoors. The coolest thing about this new toy is the cameras that feed live video to your iPhone so it seems as though you are in the cockpit.

7: A British company named Xeros has created a washing machine that uses 90% less water. They key factor to its success is nylon beads that tumble around and eliminate stains on clothes. These beads can be reused 100s of times. The invention of this product is not only cool because we will save on our water bills, but we can save 1.2 billion tons of water each year.
