5 Tips for Ingrown Pubic Hair

To be blunt in the day and age we live in most women and a lot of men prefer that there is some maintenance down there. You can wax but most of the time you might be in a hurry to look good for that “special occasion”, and that might cause you to be a little unprepared. Ingrown hairs are very common, especially when shaving hairs that naturally grow curly, like the pubic region.

Ingrown hairs are the hairs that have been cut below the skin that instead of growing upwards through the hair follicle they grow sideways into the surrounding tissues causing pain discomfort and possible infection. So this Ingrown hair, razor burn, hair bumps, shaving bumps or what ever you want to call it is something that you should try to avoid. In some bad cases you may even need to see a dermatologist.

I have seen a few hair gels on the market made to deal with ingrown hairs. If you do a search for “ingrown hair removal gel” you will likely find a few but I personally think the cheapest and easiest way to deal with ingrown hairs is to use tweezers. Now you know what they are here are some great tips on how to deal with and avoid ingrown hairs.

1. If you already have them and chances are because you are reading this article you do, you need to wear loose fitting clothes and undergarments in the places you have ingrown hairs to help avoid irritation.

2. If you are planing on waxing try exfoliating first to remove the dead skin that can trap the hairs beneath the surface of the skin. BUT do not exfoliate if you have existing ingrown hairs as this can really irritate already sore ingrown pubic hairs.

3. If you are going to wax try to ensure that you are getting the entire hair including roots and not breaking it off below the skin.

4. If you have ingrown pubic hair or an ingrown hair somewhere else I would advise you get out a pair of tweezers, and get some rubbing alcohol ready and manually extract the offending hair from the follicle.

5. Ingrown pubic hair along the bikini line can be helped with a hot damp wash cloth pressed against the skin for ten or so minutes a few times a day to make the skin soft and help the hairs breakthrough.

Shaving while the skin is hot an soft like towards the end of a shower can also get you a cleaner cut wash out dirt and minimize the chances of getting ingrown pubic hair’s. Never do a dry shave, you will seriously regret it. This free tip applies to males and females. It is not a good idea to shave the pubic hair region every day and you should try to spread it out as much as you can to avoid razor burn and the chances of getting ingrown pubic hair.
