YOUR Beautiful Wedding Venues Near Modesto & Turlock, California

Your wedding is one of the most important events in your life and where you have your ceremony and reception is one of the most important decisions you’ll make regarding your wedding.

A winery, a beach, a vineyard, a ballroom, a Victorian home, or ? Weddings are done everywhere now with wineries and vineyards being the most popular.

In this article I’ll mention a few reception venues near Modesto and Turlock, California. Ceremonies are sometimes done at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at a site, then move (but on the same property) so the reception is done inside. Many ceremonies are still done in churches and the receptions are being held just about anywhere.

First, is the Reata which is actually located in the historic downtown area of Oakdale about 15 miles northeast of Modesto, near the Stanislaus River. (Oakdale is also the site of the Hershey Chocolate Factory) The Reata is a wonderful wedding venue. In fact, I was at the Modesto Bridal Show earlier this month, and many of the local brides had already booked this site for their wedding. Their full service banquet facility is the ideal setting from bridal showers and rehearsal dinners to grand weddings, receptions. They can accommodate indoor seating for up to 300 guests and offer a variety of extraordinary menus fashioned specifically for them. Their newest wedding venue is their spectacular Garden that combines old world charm with lush landscaping and includes a stage to dramatically highlight your on-site wedding ceremonies or to accommodate larger outdoor events. The Reata’s dining room is unique, reflecting the charming character of the spacious classic red old brick building with its high ceilings and tall windows, yet featureing numerous elegant details found in the iron chandeliers, decorative lighting and rustically adorned mirrored bar area. (Check out their website at thereataoakdale.com for more information.)

The next beautiful wedding venues are also in Oakdale, the Almond Pavilion, and the Erwinshire Garden Estate on Sierra near the Stanislaus River Bluff. Their sites include places for your ceremony and well as your reception. The Almond Pavilion is right at the town square in downtown Oakdale, with the gardens located at the estate location. The downtown site is a spectacular four-story banquet facility with a grand ballroom, formal dining room, three balconies, and an elegant outdoor galleria that bordering a spacious lawn and flowering garden area. Imagine making an entrance using the fashionable staircase leading down to the ballroom. And, a luxurious glass-enclosed elevator whisks your guests to the upstairs rooms and balconies. Their maitre’d works with you to co ordinate your special day, right down to helping you select the menu and the wedding cake they also provide. These venues can handle 300 guests for a sit down banquet and up to 500 for a cocktail party style reception. The bridal party has use of a private suite to get ready in and there is valet parking for your guests. (Check out almondpavilion.com for details.)

The next wedding site is in Ceres, a small town between Turlock and Modesto. It’s the Evanshire Gardens which is beautiful wedding venue. The first home on this site was built in the early 1900’s and was later consumed by a fire. It was recently rebuilt and is now the ideal setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions and other events. The gazebo is a beautiful place for a wedding. Their staff can provide the setting for a simple wedding, or add all the elegant touches you’d like. They also have a dressing room available for the bride and her attendants. (Go to evanshiregarden.com for additional information.)

There are many more choices for weddings and events in and around the Turlock/Modesto area. Keep in mind, you’ll need to reserve many of these up to a year in advance. Look for another article about more reception venues coming soon.
