“Just Married” Car Magnet

So, the wedding is over and you’re off to your honeymoon. Before, during or after the honeymoon you might want to announce to the world that you’ve recently been married. You can do so by creating a lovely magnet that sticks to the car door or elsewhere on your vehicle. The magnet is a breeze to make and isn’t expensive. After it’s finished, just stick it on your car, and drive around as usual. Your magnet will tell the world of your recent nuptials.

A store like Staples, which sells office supplies, often carries the type of magnetic sheeting which you can use to print directly onto the magnet. Craft magnets might not be suitable for printing so check the label. If you’re using printable magnetic sheeting you’ll have no trouble creating a nice image and wording, using your print program or another, and printing it onto a magnetic sheet. If you’re using a piece of magnetic sheeting which doesn’t allow you to print directly on it, print the image onto a piece of ordinary paper, then stick the paper to the magnet.

A nice shape for the “Just Married” magnet is a heart shape. If you’re using printable magnet, just print the image, then cut off the excess sheeting around the heart shape. If you’re using craft magnet just print out the heart, stick it to the sheeting, then cut around it.

The design you do for the heart magnet can be simplistic or more detailed. The car sign can simply say “Just Married” or you can add the names of the bride and groom. Other things you might add include the wedding date or even a gold or silver border around the edge of the heart.

If you’ve printed directly onto the car magnet it’s ready to attach to the vehicle. If you’ve printed a paper and stuck it to magnetic sheeting it’s a good idea to protect the paper. Cut a heart shape from clear shelf liner and stick it to the front of the heart.

You don’t have to stop at just the large heart on one or both doors. You can make smaller versions which are just colored hearts, or hearts with loving sentiments, like “forever”, “love”, “us”, “together” or others. Stick these smaller versions, here and there, on the rest of the car. It’s a fun way to tell the world that you and your love are now married.
