Wineries and Wine Tastings in Grand Junction, Colorado

Grand Junction, Colorado, on the west side of the state, is home to some of Colorado’s most beautiful wilderness area. The great outdoors is wide open. Outdoors sports are very popular including skiing on Powderhorn Mountain while looking at the spectacular red mesas, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and golf.

The climate is perfect for the vineyards that populate the area surrounding Grand Junction. Banks of the Colorado Rives in Palisade, Colorado are the perfect place to cultivate delicious grapes. The hot dry climate coupled with cooling canyon winds blowing over mineral rich soil in produces perfect grape growing conditions Several boutique and family owned wineries in the area have tasting rooms and are proud to show off their wines to visitors.

The Colorado Wine Room is a wine tasting room and demonstration winery and presents the best Colorado wines. Hand picked Colorado wines are selected by an blind panelist tasting. The rotating wine selection is chosen from among 50 Colorado wineries.
Tasting room and gift shop open Tuesday through Saturday 10:30 pm to 5:30 pm and Sunday 12 noon to 5 pm.

The family owned winery produces wine using 100% Colorado grown grapes from their own vineyard, American Oak barrels. Their Premium handcrafted wines are produced with Old World attention to detail.
The winery tasting room is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm, by appointment or by chance.

Canyon Wind Cellars is an estate winers focused on vineyard quality. The banks of the Colorado Rives in Palisade, Colorado are the perfect place to cultivate delicious grapes. The hot dry climate coupled with cooling canyon wind blowing over mineral rich soil produces perfect grape growing conditions. The vineyard currently has 22 planted acres of Chardonnal, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.
Canyon Wind is a boutique winery dedicated to handcrafted wine.
The Palisade tasting room is open from 10 am to 5 pm daily. Free winery tours on week ends.

Carlson wines have been made with 100% Colorado grown grapes since 1982. The Carlson’s names their wines after Western Colorado icons: dinosaurs whose fossils are found in area museums, along with the prairie dog.
Wines include Merlot, Shiraz, Savignon, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and fruit wines. Carlson Vineyards Winery procures most grapes from three Colorado vineyard with ideal micro climates, resulting in premium grapes.
Winery open for tastings seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm.
