Victoria Secret Love Spell: Review

Victoria Secret Love Spell is a fresh sweet fragrance that is very light, but very fruity and flowery. It reminds me more of a body spritzer or a body spray than of an actual perfume or cologne. I received this as a gift and the plain bottle with the lovely purple flower on it gave me a good first impression. I liked how the actual product itself was a light lavender color. Victoria Secret Love Spell is not strong and the scent lasts for a long time. Usually, I find that colognes or body sprays don’t tend to last as long, and I find myself reapply them throughout the day, but even though Victoria Secret Love Spell is not a perfume, per se, it’s scent still lasts all day.

Even though Victoria Secret Love Spell is a light and fresh fragrance, I find that if I wear too much of it, it’s almost too sweet. The scent has strong sweet overtones to it and it reminds me of very sweet hard candy or even bubble gum. A coworker of mine came in to work one morning wearing Victoria Secret Love Spell. I knew it smelled familiar because I had it myself, but had not yet worn it. I recognized the scent. Actually the scent was almost too much for me to bear. Even though I enjoy Victoria Secret Love Spell, she really put too much of it on, so the scent was too overpowering and loud.

I did finally wear my Victoria Secret Love Spell to a wedding the following week and I got numerous compliments on the sweet almost grape like fragrance, in fact a woman that was sitting at our table asked if anyone was chewing grape bubblegum! I always feel that I am putting too much Victoria Secret Love Spell on. It smells light and fresh in the bottle but I feel that unless I just put a tiny amount on, the smell will be overbearing and too strong.

My fifteen year old daughter loves Victoria Secret Love Spell. Now, it’s very possible that she likes it because it’s a Victoria Secret product or if it’s because she actually likes the scent. She has worn it a couple of times and she wears it very sparingly. Actually, when my daughter wears Victoria Secret Love Spell, it smells very light on her, and I notice a hint of cherry in the fragrance. It smells much better on her than it does on me. I really feel that this is a fragrance better suited to a younger customer, but it’s also appropriate for a more mature consumer as well. Victoria Secret Love Spell can be worn for daytime and for evening. I prefer to wear it only in the evening for special occasions because I feel it is a little overpower for daytime wear, unless you just wear a hint of it. The overly sweet scent can clash with your lunch or dinner, so make sure you use it only sparingly. If you wear Victoria Secret Love Spell sparingly, chances are you will get lots of compliments on your fragrance.

By looking at the bottle and seeing the light lavender cologne that’s visible from the transparent bottle, you would think that Victoria Secret Love Spell is a very light fragrance, but actually I find it on the stronger side. I also find that this fragrance would do well to be worn in the colder months, as wearing in very hot weather may intensify it’s already very sweet scent.
