Do you want to enjoy a romantic, couples’ spa getaway this winter? If so, you may want to consider setting your sights on Virginia. Based on my experience, there are a multitude of wonderful spas located across the state. Between all of them, there are packages that are likely to please most couples. With that said, here’s a quick look at a few of my favorites:
Massanutten Resort
Couples looking to unwind and enjoy winter activities may want to consider visiting the Massanutten Resort. It is located near Harrisonburg and features an onsite spa that offers a handful of couples’ packages. The packages include such things as Moroccan Incense Body Scrubs, Swedish massages, pedicures and manicures. Spa package prices start at $130 per person. Overnight accommodations are additional. Other amenities on offer at the resort include an indoor water park, an ice skating rink and two terrain parks.
Wintergreen Resort
The Wintergreen Resort is located in Roseland. In my opinion, it is another great spot for active couples seeking a bit of romance. It features an onsite spa, overnight accommodations and dining options. Ice skating, snow tubing, skiing, snowboarding and winter zip lining opportunities are also available onsite. The resort’s couples’ packages often include meals, champagne, spa services and overnight accommodations. Spa services worth partaking of include couples’ massages, aromatherapy wraps, manicures and pedicures. Package prices will vary based on when you decide to visit. Oftentimes, the most economical periods to visit the resort are midweek.
Primland
Do you enjoy learning about Native American history with your loved one? Well then, I’d recommend that you think about visiting the Primland. Next to The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg, it is one of the most unique spa venues in Virginia that I know of. The resort’s spa packages are rooted in Native American practices. They include such things as history talks, hot stone massages and wraps made of blue corn and honey. Spa package prices generally start at $626 per person. Lodging, dining, shooting sports, horseback riding and ATV riding are also available onsite.
The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg
History lovers in general will undoubtedly appreciate The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg. It is located in Williamsburg and offers spa packages that are based on Colonial history. Spa services include cleansing hot stone treatments, ginger body scrubs and water treatments. Prices for the spa’s couples’ packages typically start at $525. For an additional fee, couples may also opt to spend the night in Colonial houses complete with fireplaces and replicas of period furnishings.
Berry Hill Resort and Conference Center
Would you rather stay inside with your sweetie instead of enjoying the great outdoors? If so, I’d suggest that you contemplate visiting the Berry Hill Resort and Conference Center in South Boston. It features an onsite spa, an indoor swimming pool, saunas, lodging and dinning opportunities. Some of the resort’s couples’ packages include Swedish massages, chocolate dipped strawberries, champagne, meals and overnight accommodations. Spa package prices tend to start at $219 per person.
