Toga Party Themed Favors for Teens

Are you thinking about planning a toga party for your teen this year? If so, you may be wondering what party favors would be suitable for use with such a theme. Well, as a former party planner, I may be able to help. I happen to have a handful of favor ideas that I am willing to share. Each one would be appropriate for use at a teen’s toga party. Here they are:

Roman Wreaths

If you ask me, no toga party would be complete without a Roman wreath. As such, you may want to consider handing out a bunch of them to your party guests. Roman wreaths come in a small variety of styles and are gender neutral. Most of the Roman wreaths that I am familiar with feature either green leaves or gold foil leaves. Which wreath style you ultimately decide upon investing in is up to you. Both styles tend to sell through party supply retailers and costume shops for $5 each. One place that traditionally stocks Roman Wreaths is Party City.

Struffoli

Ancient Romans were known to feast on honey drenched cakes, some of which contained fruits and nuts. As such, you may want to consider giving your party guests struffoli. Struffoli are delicious little balls of fried dough that are typically topped with toasted hazelnuts and warm honey. You could place three to four pieces of struffoli into small candy boxes and give one to each of your guests. If you’ve never made the dessert before, there is a wonderful struffoli recipe posted on the Food Network’s website. It should help walk you through the process. As far as the candy boxes go, you can typically purchase them through companies like Nashville Wraps and Paper Mart for a modest fee.

Roman Swords

Do you have a lot of men on your guest list? If so, you may want to contemplate giving them replicas of 15 inch Roman Swords. The swords are often sold through costume and theatrical shops for $3 each. They tend to be made from plastic and feature a wide, faux blade. While you are at it, you may also want to throw in a pair of Studded Roman Wristbands. The wristbands are usually made from dark brown leather or faux leather. They are also likely to cost you an additional $6 per set.

Sparkling Cider

In Ancient Rome, wine was frequently served with meals. Hence, you may want to give some thought to giving your party guests miniature bottles of sparkling cider. If you do decide to go that route, I’d suggest making custom labels to go over the bottles’ original labels. For instance, you could emboss the labels with graphics of the Roman Colosseum and text that commemorates your teen’s birthday.
