1) Remember you have to be around these people after the party. How do you want to be remembered?

2) Buying white elephants gifts can be a lot of fun, do not make it hard than it is. Try to find a gift you would like to receive.

3) Decide how to wrap your white elephant gift. I like to wrap all gifts very fancy with pretty Christmas paper, crisp creases, and a big bow. The other extreme would be double bagging the gift with plastic shopping bags and knotting it closed.

4) Stay away from nasty gifts, if it belongs in the trash put it there. Do not make someone upset by giving trash as your white elephant gift.

5)Do not be the one who gave a truly horrible white elephant gift, the person who receives it may have anger management issues. Trust me it happens.
