The Very Best Indian Food I’ve Ever Had in Houston, TX

India is a land diverse with beautiful a beautiful architectural design, lush greenery, delicious food and many treasures. I think the same thing is true of the place that houses my little piece of India – right here in Houston. Taj Indian Restaurant, located at 15895 North Freeway / Houston, TX. 77090 offers the very best Indian food I’ve ever had. I’ve had my share of Indian food, having visited several area Indian restaurants (Houston is bursting at the seams with a plethora of restaurants offering every kind of cultural food imagined). I even had an extended period of time devoted to Indian Food in my final cuisine level of laboratory instruction, so when I put the first bite of food into my mouth – I had an Indian revelation!

The Seekh Kabab was truly a wonder to behold. The lamb was perfectly seasoned (I’ve noticed in many of the dishes are prepared by a true cook who knows just the right amount of spice to add to a dish to give it a kick, without burning your mouth off in the process). The following dishes in this scrumptious buffet of Indian food equally wowed me; Saag Paneer – with it’s cheesy spinach goodness, Peas Pullau (basmati rice with peas, spices, herbs was a delicate treasure) and the Papadoms literally melted in my mouth!

Interestingly enough, there was nothing that I didn’t like, which is rare of a buffet for me. The naan bread was chewy and crispy and the salads, chutneys, sauces, Tandoori chicken, Rogen Josh, and Vindaloo were equally impressive. The prices were reasonable for food of such quality and my lunch-time Indian buffet from heaven only cost $11.90 (pre-tipping). The place was filled (local area business personnel seemed to have taken residence in this fairly new restaurant). The wait staff was accommodating without being overly suffocating and before I could get back to the table with my 2nd plate of samples, the table had been cleared of my previous plate (excellent service). The greenery and opulence of the restaurant décor further encouraged my senses and the place was immaculately clean. The sound of happy conversations floated across the entire seating area. These people, like me – were appreciative of this food. For the very best Indian food, call Taj Indian Restaurant at (281) 874-6800.
