The Pros and Cons of Paid Surveys

I have seen a lot of advertisements for doing paid surveys and just as many articles and discussion groups claiming that you should avoid them because they are scams. I know some of you are thinking “Why should be believe anything that you are saying about paid surveys given everything I have seen or read about them?” Well, before I continue, let me answer that question. For the past year, I have tried nearly every program and method for making money online. I decided to give this a try because even though I am a educated person, I had major difficulty finding a job because of where I live and the fact that I am disabled. I have Cerebral Palsy and live in a small town with nothing much factories, fast food restaurants, no public transportation and little economic growth potential. After college, I was reduced to applying for disability in order to obtain medical insurance, and had become the thing I dreaded all my life-a statistic! I am giving you an honest look at paid surveys without trying to get you to buy anything or something like that. I have also done paid surveys myself. This article is based on my own personal experience. That is why I believe you should take what I say into consideration before using paid surveys.
I should first begin by saying that there are both positive and negative aspects of doing paid surveys. Right about now, I am sure you are thinking “Is it really possible to make money online doing paid surveys?” In short, the answer is yes, but there are some things you should know before you decided to try to make money online buy doing paid surveys. The reason why so many people frown upon doing paid surveys to make money is because of the fact that there is a lot of things that they do not tell you upfront, and then people feel like they have been taken for a ride, so to speak.
To begin, I am going to let you in on why companies are willing to pay to people to take surveys online. The reason why companies are willing to pay you to take surveys online is because when you are doing a paid survey, in order to get paid, you actually have to try out the product that the survey is asking you questions about. On the one hand, the trials are free, but on the other hand, you have to pay for the shipping and handling for the products for which you are completing the survey on. Well, for those of who are thinking “This does not sound that bad,” there is more. Once the trial period is over, if you do not cancel, then you are going to continue to rack up a bill which you were not ready for. This is why a lot of people do not like them and why many people consider them to be a scam. So, before you decide to do any paid survey offer, you should always find the customer service number, and make note of both how long the trial period is, so that you do not get charged month after month. Here is a tip. Because of the fact that many people do not know a lot about the products they are doing surveys for or the companies themselves, many people choose to use prepaid cards when doing paid surveys. For those of you who don’t know, when you buy a prepaid card, you have pay for the card in addition to putting the money on the card. You should also know that only one person per household can do a paid survey. Also, once you do a paid survey one time, you cannot do it again. The reason for this is because the company wants to send people products in the hope that they will buy them. A company is not going to send out multiple samples of a product to more than one person in a household. They assume that you are trying to scam them. Also, if more than one person in a household tries to do the same survey, the second person will not get credit for it, which translates into a waste of money.
With all the bad things about paid surveys, I am bet you are wondering why people would even bother. Well, if you have the money to spend, paid surveys are a quick way to make a buck. You cannot only do paid surveys to make money but earn prizes as well. You can make money from paid surveys in two ways. You can make money by doing surveys yourself or by referring other people. Generally speaking, you earn a certain amount of credit for every survey that is done. That credit translates into points earned which translates into cash. You also need to set up a Pay Pal account in order to receive cash once you complete a survey. Pay Pal accounts are free and easy to set up. It is also important that before you consider doing a paid survey you send customer service a support ticket (e-mail) and introduce yourself to the customer service and ask such questions as “How much money does one have to accumulate before I can receive a payout?” Some companies say that you have to earn $20 while others say you have to make around $100. You also need to ask, “What days do they pay out?” Some companies payout like three times a week and others payout only twice a month. You should also ask “How long does it take for a payment to show up once I have completed a survey?” Sometimes credits show up instantly while others can take up to weeks to show up. Back when I was doing this, it was also recommended that you use Internet Explorer rather than another browser because payments could take longer to show up. I hope this helps those of you who are considering doing paid surveys to make money.
