Tarrant County College Kids’ Enrichment

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) announced recently its support of the Patty Boshell Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and their “Drive to Survive” campaign. The Foundation is committed to raising one million for pancreatic cancer research, according to a press release from PanCAN.

In unrelated health news, the American Lung Association has reported that breathing even low levels of ozone can cause asthma attacks and even shorten your life.

In other event news, Van Halen rescheduled their March show in Texas for April 24 due to Eddie Van Halen’s possible health problem, according to the Dallas News. The American Airlines Center box office hotline said the March show was postponed until 8 p.m. on April 24 and that tickets from this month’s show would be honored. Van Halen performed at the same place in January but due to such a demand set up another performance.

Also on April 24 TCC South Drama presents “Extremities” 7:30 p.m. at the South campus for an admission price of $6-$9.00. (Source: TCC).

In other local news, The Women’s Museum at 3800 Parry Avenue in Dallas presents “In the Beginning” through April 27.

The latest art exhibit at the museum is a juried compilation of more than 40 artworks by 20 Jewish women concerning aspects of Jewish culture, history, philosophy, theology, and social commitment,” said reporter Mike Daniel.

Gallery hours are Tues.-Sun., noon to 5 p.m. and the event is free with museum admission.
